I have a request; I am looking for girl names that do not sound like many others. My theory is that even if that name is popular, like [name]Jasper[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name], it will still sound distinct because of its sound. I will give examples for both boys and girls so you know what I’m talking about. (I would prefer suggestions that you could see on an actual person - while [name]Mehitabel[/name] is distinct in sound it’s not very realistic! Also, I like the gener style of the names listed, if they could be of somewhat similar ilk I would appreciate it!)
Girls:
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
…perhaps [name]Jemima[/name], for the long “I” sound?
[name]Phoebe[/name]
Thank you!
Note: This post was prompted by twins I met today, [name]Silas[/name] and [name]Noemie[/name], age 3 and adorable! The mother told me she wanted “something different”.
I feel like almost any name that I think of reminds me of another name! The one name that comes to me is [name]Jennifer[/name]…common as it is I don’t think I can come up with anything in that sound-family. [name]Beatrice[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name] are similar but I don’t think they have any others that group with them. [name]Anastasia[/name] is grouped with all the [name]Anna[/name] [name]Ana[/name] names butthe stasia part is fairly unique sounding.
