We like names that might make you pause for a moment because you aren’t expecting to hear it on a baby, while still being legitimate and recognizable names. I mean, isn’t that secret sauce everyone is looking for?

I’ve grown to like some names like [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f], but I don’t know that I could picture using it in everyday life. I think my new metric for whether or not we would actually consider a name is “can I picture typing out this name while texting my mother or saying it out loud while on the phone with the pediatrician?”.

One of our sons is named [name_m]Clyde[/name_m], and there have been many times I’ve used his name and then thought about some of the other names we considered naming him and how tiring they would have felt to use all of the time? I like that his name is a bit uncommon but also not fussy. [name_f][/name_f]We considered some like [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], etc., and it just feels like that would be tiring to use in daily life all of the time. [name_f][/name_f]Does that make sense?

More so looking for girls names because we have a list of quite a few boys names already, but open to both!
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Alma[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f] and [name_f]Wilma[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Greta[/name_f] is one of those names we used for a dog pre-kids and wish we hadn’t.

I love your son’s name, [name_m]Clyde[/name_m], and how is unexpected but friendly and approachable. I think some “classic” or even “boring” names would make me pause if I saw them on a baby today, though, you know? I don’t expect to meet [name_m]Baby[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m], but I’d be delighted. And it’s certainly not fussy.
I heard someone calling after an [name_f]Opal[/name_f] at the park and it did have this exact effect on me!
