Does anyone else have any names that they view as almost too good for anyone? Kind of in the middle of names you love and would/would consider using and GPs. For me the name is [name_f]Colette[/name_f]. It just doesn’t suit anyone I’ve seen it on (except [name_f]Keira[/name_f] Knightly in the trailer for that movie - I did like it on her) and just feels like it’s too perfect for anyone (imo). Is this just me?
Interesting question!
I think [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] falls into this category for me. It’s such a sharp, bold, striking, almost sensual name that I can only really picture it in a high-stakes casino or similar, à la Casino [name_m]Royale[/name_m]. I can’t imagine a [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] popping to the off-licence for some milk and a packet of jelly babies, or doing the school run, or slobbing out in front of Bake Off of an evening!
I think maybe [name_f]Lucretia[/name_f] is a name like that for me. The only person it actually fits is [name_f]Lucretia[/name_f] Borgia in The Borgias, played by [name_f]Holliday[/name_f] [name_m]Grainger[/name_m]. I love the name, but I can’t see it on any “normal” person.
I want to say [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. I just think that name is so beautiful, I even adore the spelling. Also [name_m]Eben[/name_m] is my favorite for a boy. He is the perfect mix between hard and soft sound. A mix of nature and conformity.
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f], love the name, but it sounds too elegant for life. It seems like the name of a gorgeous model with royal blood who’s delicate but has a slight sass.
I kinda feel that way with my very favorite names. I try hard not to “Taint” them, and I can barely imagine them on someone.
