Im pre planning names because i always struggle with girl names.
I would ask her when the time comes if she minds me using it but i dont want to do it before shes even had the baby and im not in the position yet.

Ooh, [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is the obvious one and I’m just here to make the case for it as I adore it (much prefer to Astrid).
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] starts with an ‘ass’ sound which I don’t think is attractive. The ‘Ing’ starting sound in [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is so unusual and distinct. [name_u]Bright[/name_u] & sparkly yet clunky-cool.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] brings to mind old Hollywood and royalty.
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] sounds a little too much like asteroid imo.
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is having a moment - it will date. Not so with [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f].
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] has a bit of a hippy vibe. Ingrid’s is more refined.
All of that said (as I’m definitely biased), is it worth speaking to friend? Because quite simply, if [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is the name you adore nothing else is going to come close.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is the first one that comes to mind and seems like the most obvious choice and also fits with your idea of being on the rarer side (but obviously I’m biased since its been in my top 2 names for a while). Another one that fits the scandinavian vibes and has been growing on me recenly but is a lot more popular where I’m from is [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
