Does anyone else have names that they love when written out, but don’t actually love when spoken? There are names that seem so appealing to me when I read them but not when I say them. Here is a list of the ones I am thinking of…
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - There is something about the spelling of it that looks so joyful and I want to love it but it always makes me think of an old lady or margarine when I hear it
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] - Another one I want to love so much. The spelling is so pretty and just feels very sweet and spunky but it doesn’t seem to roll off my tongue the way I want it to
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f]/Isolt - These ones are definitely more unique than the first two. I really love the look and sound of names that start with “I”, especially a hard I like [name_f]Isolt[/name_f]. There is just something I love about the look of these names but not the pronunciation
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] - I think this name looks so cute and playful, but when said I think sounds a little harsh. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] would be a sweet, softer nickname though.
[name_u]Augustine[/name_u] - I think it looks very cute and handsome, but sounds like a lot for a baby when said
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] the look and Idea but it just isn’t my favorite when I actually hear it
Does anyone else have names like this that they love when written down but aren’t a huge fan of when you actually hear it? [name_u]Or[/name_u] is it just me haha. Let me know!
Totally agree! I think [name_m]Philip[/name_m] looks very cute spelled out but feels a little boring when you just hear it. Maybe its because I don’t love the nickname [name_u]Phil[/name_u]
I’m having a really hard time here separating written out names from their sounds! I just… can’t pick them apart well. The only one I can think of is [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] - written out, it looks so pretty and cute, but said out loud it sounds a bit like “oddly”. I still love it though, so I’m not sure it counts.
