I don’t have any suggestions offhand, but I was wondering if [name]Enid[/name] is set in stone? Not that I dislike it, just that when I read about the meaning you were looking for, I immediately thought of [name]Alma[/name], which also means soul and which I happen to think is very soft and beautiful. It might open up other combo possibilities, and might even be something that you would like in the first name spot? (I think that “soul” first followed by the adjective still accomplishes the same meaning). Two combos using [name]Alma[/name] that jump out for me are:
[name]Beatriz[/name] [name]Alma[/name] (I think this sounds better than [name]Beatriz[/name] [name]Enid[/name] because there’s more of a balance between hard and soft sounds and because [name]Beatriz[/name] [name]Enid[/name] has repeating long e sounds).
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] (also meaning “happy soul”)
I think this is a lovely idea and I never knew [name]Enid[/name] had such a lovely meaning. I agree that [name]Alma[/name] would also be al ovely choice if [name]Enid[/name] isn’t set in stone.
[name]How[/name] about one of these?
[name]Esme[/name] [name]Enid[/name] (Esteemed soul or Loved soul)
[name]Liberty[/name] [name]Alma[/name] ([name]Free[/name] soul)
[name]Francesca[/name] [name]Enid[/name]/[name]Francine[/name] [name]Alma[/name] ([name]Free[/name] soul)
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Enid[/name] (Youthful Soul)
[name]Callista[/name] [name]Enid[/name] (Most beautiful soul)
[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Alma[/name] (Pure soul)
[name]Verity[/name] [name]Enid[/name] ([name]True[/name] soul)
[name]Elvira[/name] [name]Enid[/name] ([name]True[/name] soul)
[name]Kayla[/name] [name]Enid[/name] (Pure and [name]Beloved[/name] soul)
[name]Adora[/name] [name]Enid[/name] ([name]Beloved[/name] One’s Soul)
[name]Amy[/name] [name]Alma[/name] ([name]Beloved[/name] soul)
[name]Priya[/name] [name]Enid[/name] ([name]Beloved[/name] soul)
[name]Suki[/name] [name]Alma[/name] ([name]Beloved[/name] soul)

In days gone by [name]Gay[/name] would’ve been a good choice. Obviously it’s not these days (but amazingly it sometimes pops up in Nameberry’s “Cool Names” box).
I hate to be a [name]Debbie[/name]-downer, but [name]Catherine[/name] only “sort of” means pure and [name]Beatrix[/name] only sort of means blessed.
From the Greek name ??? ([name]Aikaterine[/name]). The etymology is debated: it could derive from the earlier Greek name ”??? (Hekaterine), which came from ”??? (hekateros) “each of the two”; it could derive from the name of the goddess HECATE; it could be related to Greek ??? (aikia) “torture”; or it could be from a Coptic name meaning “my consecration of your name”. In the early [name]Christian[/name] era it became associated with Greek ??? (katharos) “pure”, and the Latin spelling was changed from [name]Katerina[/name] to [name]Katharina[/name] to reflect this.
Probably from Viatrix, a feminine form of the Late Latin name Viator which meant “voyager, traveller”. It was a common name amongst early Christians, and the spelling was altered by association with Latin beatus “blessed”.
[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Adele[/name], [name]Alice[/name] - “noble”
[name]Amaryllis[/name] - “sparkling”
[name]Claire[/name] - “clear, bright, famous”
[name]Cara[/name] - “dear”
[name]Serena[/name] - “tranquil”
[name]Audrey[/name] - “noble strength”
[name]Sage[/name] - “wise”
[name]Amabel[/name], [name]Mabel[/name] - “lovable”
I’m pretty sure that [name]Marni[/name] means “glorious” in Hebrew. And it’s cute!
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Edin[/name]
[name]Joy[/name] [name]Edin[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name] [name]Edin[/name]
[name]Allegra[/name] [name]Edin[/name]
[name]Aliza[/name] [name]Edin[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name] [name]Edin[/name]
That’s very interesting! Doesn’t put me off either name though because I think regardless of what the name may have originally meant (or the original version of the name meant), they have taken on new meanings over the centuries.
The stories are very interesting though! Where did you find them because I’d love to look up some other names!

I like the name [name]Sophie[/name] - it means wisdom.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Anastasia[/name]? They both mean “graceful.”

I don’t think that’s too important. Lots of name originate in more than one place and have more than one meaning.
[name]Kai[/name] for example is from [name]Caius[/name]/[name]Gaius[/name] and means “rejoicing” in Latin but also originated as a Hawaiian name meaning “the sea.”
