Names that Relate to Space/Stars/Planets

I really like names that relate somehow to space, yet aren’t too “out there” (pun intended?). I like [name_f]Io[/name_f] and [name_u]Dione[/name_u], but I want to stay away from names that are directly after planets/stars but still evoke the imagery. I would consider names of moons, but my husband is not a fan of Greek goddess names, and those seem to go hand-in-hand. I also would rather stay away from [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Estella[/name_f]/[name_f]Stella[/name_f].

Any suggestions?

I love names with the star/moon/night imagery, here are some that give me that feeling/have that meaning:
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] (obviously)
[name_f]Twyla[/name_f]/[name_f]Twila[/name_f]- Twilight, [name_f]Star[/name_f]
[name_f]Este[/name_f]- [name_f]Star[/name_f] (pro. like es-stay)
Stelara- Like a Constellation (which is also a name of a medication, BTW, if that bothers you)
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]- Moonlight
[name_f]Aylin[/name_f]- [name_f]Moon[/name_f] Halo
[name_f]Kalindi[/name_f]- [name_f]Sun[/name_f]
Sulwen- white sun
[name_u]Vesper[/name_u]- evening
[name_f]Vespera[/name_f]- [name_f]Morning[/name_f] [name_f]Star[/name_f] or of the [name_f]Evening[/name_f]
[name_f]Zora[/name_f]- [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], dawn
Csilla- (CHEE-la) [name_f]Star[/name_f] (Hungarian)
I wanted to suggest [name_f]Eos[/name_f] ([name_f]Dawn[/name_f]), Hespera ([name_f]Evening[/name_f]), or [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] (night) but they’re Greek Myth names (same with [name_f]Selene[/name_f] or [name_f]Selena[/name_f]). Any [name_f]Helen[/name_f] related names (including the more unknown ones like [name_f]Illia[/name_f] or [name_f]Iliana[/name_f] or [name_f]Elina[/name_f]) could be related to [name_f]Selene[/name_f], meaning moon. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helps.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Hmm. A lot of space names do suggest Greek godesses, but there are some: I’ve included that don’t:

Constellation names:
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] (after [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_m]Major[/name_m]/[name_m]Minor[/name_m])
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]

Moons:
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] after Phobos - a moon of [name_m]Mars[/name_m]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] after Amalthea - a moon of [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m]
Carme - a moon of [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m], or [name_u]Carmen[/name_u]
[name_f]Leda[/name_f] - a [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] moon but with a fairly unfortunate story
[name_u]Dione[/name_u] - a moon of [name_m]Saturn[/name_m]. Could become [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Pandora[/name_f] - a moon of [name_m]Saturn[/name_m]
[name_f]Helene[/name_f] - a moon of [name_m]Saturn[/name_m] - also [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Larissa[/name_f] - a moon of [name_u]Neptune[/name_u]

Uranus’s moons are named after Shakespearian heroines, so this way you can avoid Greek goddess names but still have a space related name:

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] ([name_m]King[/name_m] Lear)
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] ([name_m]Hamlet[/name_m] - although tragic)
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f] (Taming of the Shrew)
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] (Troilus and [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] - although [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] betrays her lover in this very dark play)
[name_f]Desdemona[/name_f] ([name_m]Othello[/name_m] - tragic)
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (R+J)
[name_f]Portia[/name_f] (Merchant of [name_f]Venice[/name_f])
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] (As You Like It)
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] (The [name_f]Tempest[/name_f])
[name_u]Ariel[/name_u] (The [name_f]Tempest[/name_f])
[name_f]Titania[/name_f] (Midsummer’s [name_m]Night[/name_m])
another of Uranus’s moons is named [name_f]Belinda[/name_f], from [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] Pope’s ‘The Rape of the [name_m]Lock[/name_m]’.

Another option could be Satellite names:
[name_f]Ariane[/name_f]
[name_f]Freja[/name_f]/[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]

[name_u]Dove[/name_u]
[name_f]Dawn[/name_f]

[name_f]Carina[/name_f]
[name_u]Vega[/name_u] - [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]'s brightest star
