Names that shorten to Lulu

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, I am expecting my third baby, who is team green. I’m trying to find names that naturally shorten to [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], but none of the ones we have considered feel special enough. We have researched [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] (too frilly), [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] (too “quiet”), [name_f]Luna[/name_f] (friend’s baby), [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], as well as [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Luisa[/name_f]/[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] (all feel very dusty and [name_f]Luisa[/name_f] is far too common where I am from). I like names that have a bit of a bright, bubbly and romantic feel and don’t care much about popularity. Perhaps something [name_m]French[/name_m] or Spanish because of our roots. If it helps, my son’s name is [name_m]Albert[/name_m] ([name_m]Albie[/name_m]) and our soon-to-be middle child is [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], who goes by [name_f]Vivi[/name_f]… just so you can get a sense of our style, if that is a thing… I think you name experts might know more than me. Many thanks!

[name_m]Albert[/name_m], sylvie and…
[name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Alouette[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] * my fav

Other names you could shorten to [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]:

[name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucilla[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucasta[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucretia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lunette[/name_f]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]/[name_f]Laura[/name_f]
[name_f]Alouette[/name_f]
[name_f]Luvenia[/name_f]

Sorry if these aren’t your style, but they were the only other ones I could think of! You could probably get away with using [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] as a nickname for anything with a strong “L” sound.

[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] could be [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]

[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Lumina[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucerne[/name_f]
[name_f]Luana[/name_f]
[name_f]Luanda[/name_f]
[name_f]Luda[/name_f]

You’ve already received great recommendations (with [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], I love [name_f]Luella[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]). [name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to add [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]/[name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] and [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f], though I don’t think the latter pairs as well with [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].

Lucrécia / [name_f]Lucretia[/name_f] / [name_f]Lucrezia[/name_f]
Lumen
[name_f]Lumi[/name_f] **
[name_f]Lupita[/name_f]
[name_f]Lux[/name_f]
[name_f]Luz[/name_f]
[name_f]Elula[/name_f] ([name_f]Lula[/name_f])
Ludmilla
[name_f]Luciana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lourdes[/name_f]
[name_f]Heloisa[/name_f] / [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f]

[name_m]Albert[/name_m], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] all have the same old-fashioned style and go together beautifully imo!

With [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], I think either [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] would be wonderful!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]'s my favourite!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Lilou[/name_f]? You could also just use [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] as her name.

[name_f]Luana[/name_f]
[name_f]Araluen[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucerne[/name_f]
Philou
[name_f]Philomina[/name_f]
[name_f]Malu[/name_f]/[name_f]Malou[/name_f]

So many suggestions, thank you nameberries!
So far I really like [name_f]Luanda[/name_f], although I think it’s very different from our style, so probably won’t make the cut in the end (but will try to incorporate it into my characters) and I really like the suggestion of [name_f]Luella[/name_f]. I’m concerned my partner won’t like it though, for the same reasons he does not like [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]. [name_f]Lilou[/name_f] and [name_f]Malou[/name_f] are adorable and would definitely work in [name_f]France[/name_f], but I have a hard time thinking of them as substantial enough for a grown woman.

I prefer Elory, [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]

First off I love your kids names they are adorable!
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] sounds like what you are describing.
I think [name_f]Luella[/name_f] and [name_f]Talullah[/name_f] sound the best with your kids.
