I forgot about Saddam and Osama! Unfortunately those names are now ruined.

I feel like [name_f]Isis[/name_f] can come back one day. It has that nature feel to it and goes along with the Iris/Ivy/Isla/Isabelle trend.

what’s wrong with [name_u]Aidan[/name_u]?

I know babies named [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Bert[/name_u] names are actually more likely to resurface due to the 100 year rule.

I honestly think that very few names are off limits, when we’re talking about never. Once time passes and connotations change, anything is able to have a resurgence.

I would have always thought [name_f]Maud[/name_f] would never make a comeback but it’s definitely favoured now.

Names I’m not expecting to resurface…

[name_f]Ermentrude[/name_f]
[name_f]Frideswide[/name_f]
[name_f]Berengaria[/name_f]
Torqueri
Lo-Ruhamah
Godgifu
Aelfgifu

I can’t imagine [name_u]Boris[/name_u] being popular here in [name_u]Britain[/name_u] any time soon!

It’s just so popular right now it will feel very dated for a long time in the future. More than 100 years, I suspect.

More 80’s/90’s names:

[name_u]Kimberly[/name_u]
[name_u]Ashley[/name_u]
[name_f]Brittany[/name_f]
[name_f]Amanda[/name_f]
[name_f]Melissa[/name_f]

Hard to say, but I haven’t heard of any babies with these names in a loooong time. They might be gone for good.

Other names I don’t think will come back:

[name_f]Shirley[/name_f]
[name_u]Beverly[/name_u]
[name_f]Ethel[/name_f]
[name_f]Beula[/name_f]
[name_f]Gladys[/name_f]
[name_f]Thelma[/name_f]

Hm it’s hard to say never but maybe [name_f]Beryl[/name_f] and [name_m]Hubert[/name_m].

Interesting. It’s always been one of my favourite names for boys. I’ve only ever met one, spelt [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] and she is a girl.

I’m meeting so many young (age 3-10) [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] s which I found surprising because I thought it was dated but it’s very popular with Eastern Europeans and Turkish communities here in the U.K.

Also I like [name_f]Shirley[/name_f] (my godmother’s name) I feel like it could easily be the next [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], [name_f]Hayley[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Kinsley[/name_f] etc.

In a similar vein, [name_f]Karen[/name_f]? Which would suck because I’ve always liked it.
