Names that work well with Whitaker and Hawthorne

My husband and I love surnames for boys but prefer for them to be a little more uncommon and with useable nicknames. We already have [name_m]Whitaker[/name_m] ([name_u]Whit[/name_u]) and [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] ([name_m]Hawk[/name_m]) . . . any other ideas?

We love [name_u]Oak[/name_u] but only as a nickname and cant think of a way to get there (we’re not fans of [name_u]Oakley[/name_u]). If you have any other longish and uncommon surname ideas I’d love to hear them!!

Thanks so much!!

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Whitaker[/name_m] and [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]! I also know a young (2ish) [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] and he carries it surprisingly well.

Thank you guys so much for the responses - I see several names I really like included in some of your lists!! I’ll share them with my husband later today and see what he says. We actually have four kiddos right now ([name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_m]Whitaker[/name_m], and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]) and will potentially be adding two more boys (and have already agreed that [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] is a favorite) so you’ve given me lots more to think about for the other name! Thanks again and keep the names coming if you think of any others!

I have a friend who’s last name is Oakeson! What do you think?

Though I don’t have the brain power to add anything else, I’m loving the idea of [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], [name_m]Calloway[/name_m], [name_m]Donovan[/name_m], [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], and [name_u]Remington[/name_u].
