My husband and I already have a gorgeous little five year old girl called [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Cristiana[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] and we are now 21 weeks pregnant with our second little girl. Now that we know the sex we feel comfortable to start looking at names.
We love older, slightly more vintage sounding names but we also need names that work well in English and Norwegian (my husband is Norwegian). We also have a fairly (ish) long last name so we like to keep the first names below two or three syllables.
We have some names that we liked from when I was pregnant with [name_f]Ada[/name_f] that are back on the list for this little girl, they are:
[name_f]Martha[/name_f] (my ultimate fave but hubs isn’t 100%)
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] (not sure this is all that usable after Frozen - thoughts?)
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Lovisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Freda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Rena[/name_f]
I would love to know what you think of the list above and please leave any suggestions for our second baby girl!
Definitely wouldn’t use [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] after frozen unfortunately even though I think its a nice name.
Really like [name_f]Martha[/name_f] and love [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] as a nick name.
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f] (nn something cute like Briggy), [name_f]Carrie[/name_f], [name_f]Delia[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f] (Like [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]), [name_f]Freya[/name_f] (Like [name_f]Freda[/name_f]), [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Katya[/name_f]/[name_f]Katia[/name_f] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f]/[name_f]Margot[/name_f] (Like [name_f]Martha[/name_f]) are all pretty, relatively short and old fashioned and to my knowledge would work across both languages.
I love [name_f]Greta[/name_f] or [name_f]Martha[/name_f]! I would steer clear of [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]. [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] always seems like a nickname for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] to me. Good luck!
