Suzanne and [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] — thanks to [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] [name_m]Cohen[/name_m]

Ellen — I just think this is really clean and pretty

Joanna — love the sound, some great namesakes

Corinne — again, lovely sound

Peggy — this might be dated enough to be cool again now, actually…

Sylvie — super dated in [name_f]France[/name_f], so it counts!

Ray, [name_u]Gene[/name_u], [name_m]Art[/name_m], [name_u]Sol[/name_u] — love this kind of old-school nickname feel, especially for boys

Peter — a lovely classic that you hardly ever hear anymore

Elmer — gentle, a bit naturey, and cute with the patchwork elephant connection

Marcus — cool and strong

Julian — this is still a little dated in the U.K. (it’s my 60+ year old dad’s name) but I think it’s such a handsome classic and I’d love to meet more little Julians here!

I’m not sure if [name_f]Maya[/name_f] counts (I’ve heard a few people say it’s dated) but I just love it. There’s something really spunky about it to me.

Pretty much all of my favorite names are dated or “old-lady/-man” names (I prefer “classic” :stuck_out_tongue:)!

Oops. Read it wrong.

I like some -ette names such as Jeannette and Georgette.

I really love [name_m]Brian[/name_m]! I like a lot of 80’s girls names like [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], [name_u]Ashley[/name_u], [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], etc. Also, I love [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] which apparently a lot of people consider dated/old-fashioned.

I really want [name_m]Elmer[/name_m] to be usable! I feel like here people will only think of [name_m]Elmer[/name_m] Fudd or [name_m]Elmer[/name_m]'s glue. :sob:
I agree that it sounds gentle and naturey. I think it deserves a comeback!

I love Elmo too. Also not usable because of a little red monster.

Another “dated” name I like is [name_f]Helene[/name_f]. For some reason I think this is the prettiest [name_f]Helen[/name_f] variation.
