Oh my goodness, what beautiful names with such a nice last name. [name]Lucky[/name] : D! Here are my thoughts:
[name]Enid[/name] - [name]Enid[/name] is growing on me, but it ends in -d like your last name, and doesn’t lend itself (I don’t think?) to a cute nickname like [name]Floss[/name] or [name]Dolly[/name], so this wouldn’t be my top pick.
[name]Rosemary[/name] - I [name]ADORE[/name] this name, but it does share the ending with [name]Dorothy[/name], and also with your last name, it’s two words, so I might have pause for using this one. (I don’t think this is a huge problem, btw, just a consideration)
[name]Gloria[/name] - This is nice, but would be heavily religious with your last name, and also, [name]Florence[/name] and [name]Dorothy[/name] are both a little bit old lady chic, whereas this to me is still a little bit more “middle-aged”
[name]Willow[/name] - this is way more modern than the other two girls.
[name]Marianne[/name] - my feelings on this one for you are similar to [name]Gloria[/name]. However, it’s a pretty nice name.
[name]Mabel[/name] - This one works with cute nickname [name]Mae[/name] : D. A top contendor imo.
[name]Martha[/name] - Ditto [name]Mabel[/name] with cute nn [name]Martie[/name] or [name]Mattie[/name] perhaps.
[name]Gladys[/name] - I like this but it shares the -s sound at the end with [name]Florence[/name], and I’m not sure there’s a cute nn, again.
[name]Rosa[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it, perhaps a touch much flower with [name]Florence[/name], but it works.
[name]Ethel[/name] - less on the chic side of old lady compared to the other two, and nn concerns.
[name]Lucinda[/name] - perfect fit with the other two and your last name : D. [name]LOVE[/name].
[name]Louisa[/name] - another one that would fit very very well.
[name]Beatrice[/name] - another one that fits very very nicely, only pause is sharing the ending with [name]Florence[/name].
Boy:
[name]Wilfred[/name] - too old man for my taste
[name]Theodore[/name] - a delightful fit to my ears.
[name]Reginald[/name] - see [name]Wilfred[/name] for my take.
[name]Albert[/name] - I think this could work, but I don’t love it as much as some others.
[name]William[/name] - much more familiar than most else of what you like, but it still works well.
[name]Henry[/name] - I have a similar opinion to this one as for [name]William[/name], but I like [name]William[/name] better because this shares the -y ending with [name]Dorothy[/name]. (As with [name]Rosemary[/name], this is not a huge thing, but just for the sake of considering).
[name]Arthur[/name] - I like this just fine but don’t love it quite as much as some others.
[name]Ernest[/name] - too old man for me.
[name]Oliver[/name] - I think this is a great choice!
[name]Eric[/name] - much more middle-aged than old…could work but not as naturally.
[name]John[/name] - a classic, I would love to see this.
[name]Alfred[/name] - could work, but I just don’t like it as much as some.
[name]Edward[/name] - the ending is very similar to your last name’s, and yet I think it works? [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Ned[/name] so much.
[name]Maurice[/name] - feels more middle-aged, and shares the -s ending with [name]Florence[/name]…
[name]Douglas[/name] - also feels more middle-aged, and shares both the D beginning of [name]Dorothy[/name] and the S ending of [name]Florence[/name].
So my top picks for you are:
[name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Martha[/name]
[name]Rosa[/name]
[name]Lucinda[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]William[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]John[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
Have you considered [name]Edith[/name]? It seems like it would fit in with what you like, I think it’s a great name, and the nn [name]Edie[/name] is so cute to go with [name]Floss[/name] and [name]Dolly[/name].
All best!
