in my story there is going to be a character named after his great-great-great-grandfather [name_m]Jebediah[/name_m]. the only problem is he was born in 1971 and I don’t think [name_m]Jebediah[/name_m] could work on someone born after like 1920 and I think [name_m]Jeb[/name_m] is to boyish (he’s in his 30s when he first comes into the story). I was thinking of [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] because of the shared sounds, but I don’t like the nn [name_m]Jerry[/name_m] or [name_f]Remi[/name_f].
I’m kind of lost here, I think I could make [name_m]Jebediah[/name_m] his middle name but I don’t know
I actually know a mid-20s Jebediah who goes by Jebba, and havs always thought that was cool, but that may not be what you’re looking for. I also have a brother named Jeremiah whose nns are Miah and Jerry. Jem, Jeremy, or Jamie could possibly work as nicknames for Jeremiah since you don’t like Jerry and Remi.
Jedidiah is an option of you’re looking in the wheelhouse of Jebediah sound alikes, as are Zebediah or Zedekiah.
Jebediah being his middle could be the easiest way to use it as a honour if you aren’t finding other options you like
Jebba actually might work for this.
I really like [name_m]Zebediah[/name_m], especially with the nn [name_m]Zeb[/name_m] / Zebby,
