What are some names that can be used to honor someone named [name_f]Melissa[/name_f]? I know [name_f]Deborah[/name_f] has the same meaning, but I’m not a fan of that either.
Maybe something that has similar letters or sounds ([name_f]Mila[/name_f]? [name_f]Esme[/name_f]?)
Thank you in advance for any suggestions
or doing something with similar sounds could also work. [name_f]Mila[/name_f] works, but [name_f]Esme[/name_f] is a bit of a stretch. Maybe you could find some other way to honor this person. something that is important to them or maybe where they were born. My oldest used to be named after Mount [name_u]Mckinley[/name_u] because his dad was from [name_f]Alaska[/name_f].
[name_f]Melisande[/name_f] or [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] were the first names that came to mind. But I just thought of Amelia-- could be Mellie for a nn.
I think [name_f]Mila[/name_f] works! [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Meli[/name_f] means honey which I think is lovely. You could always go with [name_f]Bee[/name_f].
I have the same conundrum! Trying to find a nice honor name for [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] is hard. I like [name_u]Mel[/name_u], [name_f]Lissa[/name_f], or [name_f]Bee[/name_f] are your best bets without getting too far from the original name.
