Names to honor Rafael, Razele and/or Norman

I am not actually pregnant, but due to my cousin [name]Rafi[/name]'s unexpected death a few months ago, I have been trying to think of names that my husband and I could use in the near future. We are both Jewish and would prefer names that somehow relate biblically or are of Hebrew origin. We would like to avoid overly common names; we both went to Jewish schools with a lot of Rachels and Rebeccas/Rivkas. I am not set on a name starting with an R (possibly a Z?) but would like the R or Z sound to be prominent. N names I think might be easier and we may use for a middle name or a second child, so not everything has to “work” together…we are (I am) just creating lists of possibilities.

My cousin was [name]Rafi[/name] ([name]Rafael[/name]), my grandmother was Razele and his grandfather was [name]Norman[/name]. (My great grandmother was [name]Ethel[/name] if that factors in at all.)

I appreciate people’s thoughts and ideas.

I’m so sorry about your cousin. :frowning:

R names:

[name]Raphael[/name] (I really love [name]Raphael[/name]/[name]Rafael[/name]…)

N names:

[name]Noam[/name] (I know the most adorable [name]Noam[/name]…)

E names:

Some other Hebrew names I love:

[name]Samara[/name] (I know an adorable [name]Samara[/name]…)
[name]Susannah[/name] (although it’s from the New Testament…)

(I included some common ones, so I’m sorry about that!)

Good luck!

[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Zebulon[/name]?
