Names To Meet DH's Criteria- HELP!

So, we had a top four. HAD. Then tonight’s discussion on names went sour. I vetoed [name_m]Callen[/name_m]. Too trendy and not enough history or meaning for me. DH vetoed [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. He thinks ‘[name_u]Finn[/name_u]’ is too popular and [name_u]Finley[/name_u] doesn’t sound masculine enough. Same with [name_m]Liam[/name_m].

That left [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. We both like it but neither of us really LOVES it, like we loved [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]'s name. So I asked him what he looked for in a name- because I honestly had not a clue. This is what he gave me.

His exact words were ‘vintage modern’. Which I think our girls options ([name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]) and our sons name ([name_u]Jameson[/name_u] “[name_u]Jem[/name_u]”) attest to perfectly. He wants a name that isn’t incredibly popular. But also not obscure or ‘out there’ by the majority of people’s standards. This is why he vetoed [name_m]Liam[/name_m] and thinks [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is ‘lacking’- too plain and popular. His other criteria was that it sounds masculine and strong. Which he seems to think C/K names are (I think). Examples of names he likes- [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], [name_m]Merrick[/name_m], [name_m]Callen[/name_m], [name_m]Ike[/name_m], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Tiberius[/name_m], [name_m]Ivan[/name_m]. To name a few.

I agree on the vintage/modern, but I tend to like softer names, which he despises. Like [name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. And I also like more classic names like [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m], which he thinks are too plain.

So we need some serious help!! Anyone up for the challenge?

Also Rudyard nn Rudd, Harrison “Sonny” or “Hayes”, Pearson or Piers, Ronan (a stronger Rowan?), Donovan, Sullivan, Casper or Truett?

Jameson “Jem” and Tiberius “Bear” would be very nice together

I think [name_m]Truman[/name_m] works with the criteria. It is a strong, old, name but also cool and modern. It is definitely not plain but also not so popular. Perfectly well-known but he will likely not have another [name_m]Truman[/name_m] in his class. Also the nn [name_u]True[/name_u]/[name_m]Tru[/name_m] works with [name_u]Jem[/name_u]! [name_m]Long[/name_m] classic names with shorter more modern nicknames. I love [name_u]Jem[/name_u] and [name_m]Tru[/name_m].
