Are there any names you love but you find too popular?
For me there would be [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_u]Madison[/name_u]. What are yours?

So many. They’re all on my GP list, but there are some names on my usable list, I just wish were less popular (even if they’re not very popular right now, I’m worried about in the future). I’d love to have a sibset all with names outside, or close to outside the tops 1000 ([name_f]England[/name_f]/[name_m]Wales[/name_m]/UK). I really love, but wouldn’t use at the moment because of current popularity:
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Evie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_m]Archie[/name_m]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_u]Kai[/name_u]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
Also [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] (almost at the bottom of the list now but, what about in a few years?), [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] (so popular for girls here, what if it increases?), and [name_u]Rory[/name_u], have me on edge at the moment. Especially [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], as there’s the popularity for both genders to worry about. I’m hoping some will slip down the list by the time I come to actually having kids, and not vice versa.
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. I love it and would use [name_m]Fred[/name_m] but we vetoed it on the basis that [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] has completely exploded in our area.
I really like the names [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_u]Abby[/name_u], but I’d never use them because they’re so popular. Generally, I don’t worry so much about popularity unless they are REALLY popular. Besides, my fiancee and I together tend to agree on names that are pretty uncommon.
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] for girls-I would still use these names though. I love them too much
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] for boys-I could still use [name_u]Noah[/name_u] though. It’s been a [name_m]LONG[/name_m] time crush of mine.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
A lot. When I was first having babies I wanted something not in the top 500, then not in the top 100, and then settled for #18 because all SOs favorites are in the top 50 and I do really like the name [name_f]Lillian[/name_f].
I actually prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] was less popular. Others I love but wpuldnt use on my own because of popularity (but might sacrifice for dad’s sake):
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Laila[/name_f]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_u]Mason[/name_u] (family name).
Any name that is too common I would only use as a middle name. Some names that I like but I hear everywhere are: [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], [name_u]Genesis[/name_u], [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m], [name_m]Joel[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] are names I love but…ugh, too popular!!
I’m the kind of person who would probably never name a child something inside of the top 500, if not 1000 in the US. LOL…
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]… pretty in it’s own right, but it is so over-used it makes me twitch. I am one for unique or less popular names.
I seriously love the name [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]. But all its combos equal to [name_m]WAY[/name_m] too popular. [name_u]Noah[/name_u] used to be my number 1 name back in the day… Saddened to see it has skyrocketed, but I can see why.
I would enjoy [name_f]Lily[/name_f] under other circumstances, but I’m sure I don’t need to explain why I axed it as all but a middle. I feel like [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] are going to continue to climb by the time I’m ready to consider actually using them…ditto [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], though I would call mine [name_m]Jax[/name_m] and spell it the [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] way that everyone here seems to hate because the temptation for people to shorten to [name_m]Jack[/name_m] would be too strong otherwise. I’d probably still use it, though, unless it climbed insanely high…like Top Ten high.
One of my most favourite popular names is [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], which is obviously right up there! I think its beautiful and classic, however not only does the popularity steer me away but its already been used in my OH’s family! (I guess that makes it easier to stay away from it!)
