I really love the name [name]Theo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name], but one of my best friends already has a [name]Leo[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think it is rude to choose a name so close to my friend’s son’s name? [name]Leo[/name] is 3 and my baby is due to be born in 3 weeks.
I don’t think you should forget your favorite name just because it rhymes with the name of a child you know. I’m not sure if it’s rude. But that being said, it could be confusing. Since you’re best friends I’m assuming you spend a lot of time together, which means your sons probably will too (at least for a while). If they’re together, [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Theo[/name] are very, very close.
No, I don’t. If it really concerns you, however, use [name]Theodore[/name].
I don’t think it’s rude at all. There is enough difference there, I think. Then, I agree with uniquenamelover: If it really concerns you use [name]Theodore[/name]. You can still use [name]Theo[/name].
I wouldn’t rule it out just because I’m sure the boys would probably like it. Like the others have said you could use [name]Theodore[/name].
You should only rule it out if it is your absolute best friend in the whole entire world’s kid
Agree. I actually don’t think it matters unless it is exactly the same name.
[name]Theo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] is so handsome! And they are two completely different names. [name]Just[/name] because your friend has a [name]Leo[/name] doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to use [name]Theo[/name]. In fact, they sound like a great friend combo
No they are two different names. My 2nd son is a [name]Theo[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] ) and would not consider them similar. Can use [name]Teddy[/name] too! So I would not worry! I know friends who have had Jacks and Jakes which I think are similar.
Another vote for “not too similar.” They are two completely different names. Go for it!
