Names too similar?

Hoping to get some help as I’m due in less than three weeks and still don’t have a baby girls name sorted yet. I really like the name [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] and would like to go with it, but my daughters name is [name_f]Elissa[/name_f] and wanted people’s opinions on if it’s too similar?

yes, almost not, but when said together they just seem too matchy matchy. but some people do that on purpose.

try [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] instead.

Yup, too similar for me. Feels like a tongue twister when you say them together.

my key rule is if you have to ask, then it’s too close

I agree with this.

They are both fine names but are close in pronunciation. If in the long run that doesn’t bother you than use [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], otherwise I’d look for a name with a similar feel, [name_u]Avery[/name_u] for instance, but a slightly different sound.

Sorry, I’d get tongue tied saying the two together! What about [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]? With the nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f] I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] this name! I think it sounds cute with your older daughter’s name without being to matchy.

Yes, I agree with this

The xa and the sa endings are too close

I think they’re too close. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], or [name_f]Alanna[/name_f]?

The [name_u]Lex[/name_u] and Lis parts of the names are the only sounds separating them. I think they are definitely too matchy!
Here some suggestions for a sister for [name_f]Elissa[/name_f]:
If you like the trendy “X” then you might like [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] or [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]
If you like the -a ending you might like [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] or [name_f]Serena[/name_f]
If you like the vowel name (to go with E for [name_f]Elissa[/name_f]) you might like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] or [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]

Good luck!
