Names too similar?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!

We’re expecting baby 3 in [name_u]August[/name_u]. We currently have an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and an [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]. I loooved the name [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] if our 2nd was a girl and stil love it. Are those all too close!

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]

My other ideas are: [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]), [name_f]Nellie[/name_f].

Our last name is [name_m]Thorp[/name_m].

Thank you!!

I do think [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is too close to [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], unfortunately. Maybe you’d like [name_f]Eva[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f]? It’s close to [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] without sharing too many sounds with your other kids’ names. On that note, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is also very close in sound to [name_f]Emily[/name_f], but is missing the em that makes it too much with brother [name_u]Emmett[/name_u].

[name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], and [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] are also lovely choices.

Some Other Ideas:

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Evelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]/[name_f]Ottilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]

Good luck!

I adore the name [name_f]Emily[/name_f], and am partial to the MN [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (since it’s my own MN), I’m just worried that [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] & [name_f]Emily[/name_f] are too close for my comfort. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]? or even [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] (pronounce [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-may-lee). It sounds and looks different enough from [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], but is still similar to [name_f]Emily[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a great alternative to [name_f]Emily[/name_f]! [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is my favorite from your list.
