It’s a story about a girl who is going to stay with a family friend for the summer wile her parents tour Europe for there wedding anniversary.
She’s a bit of a book worm and would be considered a dreamer.
As an only child she has a sensible side and is mature beyond her age at times.
Her dark brown hair, green eyes and pale skin give her an intelligent look ( in my opinion )
The Family friend is an elderly lady
who fits as old fashioned, sweet, kind or gentle and is best pictured in a apron and a 1950’s style dress with a [name]Debbie[/name] [name]Reynolds[/name] hair style.
This is set in the present day, right? Since your choices are kind of scattered across the board, what are the girl’s parents like? They’re the ones who would have named her, so are they the sort to give her a stodgier family gem ([name]Judy[/name]); a modern, unisex name ([name]Hayden[/name]); a sweet vintage appellation ([name]Vera[/name] or [name]Eleanor[/name]); or a European moniker ([name]Sonja[/name] or [name]Camille[/name])? Only you can really answer that, but of these, I like [name]Camille[/name] best. It’s sweet, yet spunky; young (esp. with nicknames [name]Cam[/name], [name]Cami[/name], and [name]Millie[/name]) yet grounded and mature; vintage enough to maybe be a family name, yet French enough for parents who like to travel in Europe. I’d also suggest [name]Frances[/name] or [name]Freya[/name] (nn [name]Faye[/name]), [name]Romilly[/name] ([name]Romy[/name] or [name]Milly[/name]), [name]Cleo[/name]/[name]Clio[/name], [name]April[/name], or [name]Therese[/name]/[name]Theresa[/name] ([name]Reese[/name] or [name]Tess[/name]), but not knowing much about her family, I don’t know how those fit…
I think any of your choices for the friend work fine. Other kindly vintage names might include [name]Diane[/name]/[name]Diana[/name]/[name]Dinah[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Glynnis[/name] or [name]Gladys[/name], [name]Zinnia[/name], [name]Martha[/name], [name]Miriam[/name], [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Joan[/name], [name]Birdie[/name], or [name]Clara[/name].
None of the names that you have listed for the girl seems right to me. Maybe [name]Julie[/name]/[name]Julia[/name]/[name]Juliet[/name]/[name]Jules[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name]/[name]Ellie[/name]/[name]Beth[/name] or [name]Bethany[/name]. You don’t say how old the girl is? Is she about 16 or younger?
Other names that might suit her: [name]Holly[/name], [name]Jillian[/name]/[name]Jill[/name], [name]Claire[/name], [name]Chantal[/name], [name]Sarah[/name], [name]Leah[/name]
The elderly lady might be a [name]Connie[/name], like [name]Connie[/name] [name]Francis[/name], a popular singer in the 60s.
Other names that might suit her: [name]Susan[/name], [name]Marian[/name], [name]Jean[/name], [name]Joan[/name], [name]Irene[/name], [name]Florence[/name]
Agree 100% with this. ^^ The names you like are all across the board. Determining the characteristics of the parents will help narrow down what name they would have chosen for their daughter.
My mistake for not fully clarifying
some of the details but after a lot thought I have actually chosen to put aside this plot idea for a wile.
At least until i’m able to give it my full attention through completion…I hope!
It was a little bit of a spur of the moment plot idea and wasn’t planed out much
further then what a few chapters could hold.
I have been in the process of working on a science-fiction novel for over a year now and I
feel that any other project that I might try to tackle would be too much to handle right now.
I thank you all for your ideas and i’ll use my vague thread post as a lesson learned.
