Names with one pronunciation

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]. I’m a self professed name nerd. I was interested in other peoples favorite names with only one typical pronunciation like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_f]India[/name_f]. I find I gravitate toward these names. Comments? Other names like these?

[name_f]Sofia[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Lilian[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f]?

I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]!
I’ve heard [name_f]Zara[/name_f] as zah-ra and then sounding like [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] with a z. I find it confusing to know which parents want it to be. Maybe it’s just me lol that could be. Like [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] can be e-sabel or the more common way.

I guess I didn’t really know what you meant - whether you wanted names with just no variation within the English speaking world, so that would exclude accents (the name [name_u]Harper[/name_u] sounds very different in American vs British English), or to include other languages ([name_f]Isabel[/name_f], for example, would be ee-sah-bel in Spanish for instance like you pointed out, but then [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would also be eh-lee-za-bet in some European languages). So however you clarify your rule you’re going to be breaking it anyway with your above examples.

I’m still a bit confused if I’m honest, why is it a big deal?

Anyway, these might appeal to you…
