I think I may be starting a new writing project, but I need help as far as names go. My leading lady needs a name that has the “lee” sound in it. Originally I wanted it at the end, but the more I think about it, the less I think it really matters. I would like it to fit within the naming trends for the late 80s, but I don’t want it to be an obvious, boring, “hohum” dated name like [name]Jessica[/name], [name]Michelle[/name], or [name]Stephanie[/name] (not that those have the “lee” sound, anyway!). I’ve been thinking about writing into her character some connection to Europe, so I’m not opposed to European names that are now coming into style that would have been stylish in [name]France[/name], for example, but unheard of in the US ([name]Aurelie[/name], for example, was number 2 in [name]France[/name] in 1988, but has never been listed in the US).
So far, I’ve tossed around:
[name]Lily[/name] (fairly uncommon in the late 80s, but I know several Lillians/Lilys of all ages, so it doesn’t seem that unrealistic to me)
[name]Aurelie[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Anneliese[/name] “[name]Liese[/name]” (not sure about the nn, but I think it suits my image of her more than [name]Annie[/name] or [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Elise[/name]…)
[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Coralie[/name] (she’d probably go by [name]Cora[/name], though, and I’m not sure [name]Cora[/name] fits her!)
I like the idea of something simple, sweet, a bit classic, with a bit of European flavor, although I’m not sure I could get all that into one name. 
Anyway, any ideas? Right now I’m all over the place with ideas, so just anything you could think of with the “lee” sound would be great.
