I am back… again! As soon as I think we found an awesome name that we both like, my fiance throws me through a loop! I love [name]Jake[/name] and I thought he did too… apparently not enough though! He is still stuck on the name [name]Marek[/name]. I am not a fan. I don’t want him to be called [name]Rick[/name] or [name]Ricky[/name], and the name reminds me too much of [name]Mary[/name], so it sounds rather feminine [name]IMO[/name]. I finally asked him what kind of names I should look for, since he is so picky! He said “strong, cool names, not like [name]John[/name] or [name]Ben[/name], but something with thought that is put into it.” He says he doesn’t like names that every other kid will have, but he also doesn’t like names that are way out there. His favorites- [name]Ignatius[/name], [name]Marek[/name], [name]Kier[/name]… he says that those are strong and unique. I think he likes heavy ‘k’ sounds too, maybe. He also says he would feel bad for naming his kid [name]Benjamin[/name], because it would just be like we picked it off a list and gave it to him with no thought. So I guess my search will probably be out of the top 100! He is so picky when it comes to boys names, I fear if we have boys they may go unnamed! Please help us, so that this doesnt happen!

Well, picking a really odd/unusual name can backfire too - it can end up seeming like you just picked something weird for the sake of being different, not that you chose the name for a meaningful reason. [name]Just[/name] pointing that out…

You can spell [name]Marek[/name]- Merrick, I don’t know if that makes you like it more. I like [name]Knox[/name], but it sounds like its missing something. Any suggestions for a full name with this nickname, besides lennox and maddox? [name]Kade[/name] has been on our list for a while but we’ve kind of gotten tired of it, so i dont think it would be ‘the one’. [name]Cohen[/name] is kind of cool but I don’t like the spelling. Is [name]Coen[/name] to relegious? Also, is [name]Atticus[/name] too big of a name for a little guy to carry? I only like it because of ‘To kill a Mockingbird’.
I would NOT use [name]Coen[/name]/[name]Cohen[/name] and I don’t think [name]Atticus[/name] is too big at all, you could call him [name]Atty[/name] which I think is adorable on a little guy and then he can grow into [name]Atticus[/name].
[name]Atticus[/name] is great. I don’t think it’s too big for a little guy at all. I would avoid [name]Coen[/name]/[name]Cohen[/name] as well, do to the controversy with it religiously.
I think the [name]Kiefer[/name] association with Teen Mom will go away quickly. If you love that name, I wouldn’t let it stop you from using it. What about Keeler or Keller? I’ve known boys by both of those names and thought they were handsome. Although, the [name]Helen[/name] Keller association can be strong. I love [name]Keir[/name] / [name]Keiran[/name] and [name]Kiel[/name] and [name]Cael[/name] as well.
I really like the name [name]Thatcher[/name] too. What about [name]Luca[/name] ? Think that sounds pretty cool too. My husband doesnt like it though. He is very picky also. Were not pregnant yet but we want to have a boy soon we have a little girl named [name]Alexis[/name].
Thanks for all of the suggestions!! To my surprise and delight, his [name]FAVORITE[/name] name was [name]Konrad[/name], spelled like this. He just loved it! Especially when I told him the origin and the meaning. [name]Conrad[/name] used to be one of my favorite names too! I had forgotten about it until today! What do you think of the nickname Konr (like connor)? He also really liked [name]Kiefer[/name], which was his second favorite. Third was [name]Kael[/name]. [name]Love[/name] it, except for I associate THIS with one of the moms on teen mom too! (Stupid show!) Runners up that he liked but didn’t love were Kol, [name]Thatcher[/name], and [name]Coen[/name]. I really love his top 3 choices though And now I know he DEFINITLEY likes ‘k’ names!
