Names you can't use due to fame?

I was wondering how many of you would love to use a certain name but can’t because it’s a popular name.
Anything ranging from celebs and famous brands to cartoon character’s.

One of mine is [name_f]Wilma[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Wilma[/name_f] but everyone will think of Flintstones straight away.

I really like [name_f]Aria[/name_f] but between Pretty [name_m]Little[/name_m] Liars and Game of Thrones (though I think that is [name_u]Arya[/name_u]; never seen it)…

I really like [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f] but due to the car association I probably won’t ever use it:(

[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f]. Everyone always associates them with the book characters

[name_m]Just[/name_m] what I came here to say! I would use [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f] as a middle name, but probably not as a first.

I love [name_f]Suki[/name_f], and DH’s favourite name is [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] and it would make a perfect quirky nickname for it… but our surname is the same as the model’s.

I also adore [name_f]Rafa[/name_f] for a boy but I do wonder if the association with Nadal is to strong… I think I’d still use it though!

Same! I love [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f]! But also, [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]. And I haven’t decided if I think [name_u]Salem[/name_u] is too famous because of witch trials and cigarettes. I almost don’t care because I love it so much, but I do think about it.

I really really love [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] for the original Hebrew meaning/how it’s used in [name_m]Israel[/name_m] and it is still my top choice if my boyfriend lets me use it (because, yeah, I want my future little Jewish daughter to have a big tough name) but I know that it still rings in as the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid in the popular consciousness.

Oh yes I should have added [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] I think it’s a brilliant name. My mum wanted to use it for my sister before Bloom was big. I love it too I think I’d definitely use it as a middle name.
Funny when you use a well known name people just assume your a mega fan of that person when you just love the name. It’s so frustrating

Another couple I love are [name_m]Luther[/name_m] and [name_m]Ishmael[/name_m].

I wish there was I like button on these posts because all of these are brilliant names!!!
Maybe we can all just be brave and go for it! Lol
