We’re looking for a name for our 3rd and final boy, but everything seems so “used.” The other day though, my husband asked about [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]/Sonny and while I didn’t love it initially, it got me thinking about less expected names.
I ended up finding this short list and while he didn’t say he liked them, they got him talking and thinking. So I think it’s going in the right direction, maybe?
I like [name_m]Newton[/name_m] but I’d assume you were an [name_m]Issac[/name_m] [name_m]Newton[/name_m] fan. I like sunny but I prefer [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] from [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] something like that.
Neil
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]
[name_m]Winston[/name_m]
[name_u]Wendell[/name_u]
[name_u]Adair[/name_u]
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] or [name_m]Lawson[/name_m]
[name_u]Rene[/name_u]
[name_u]Halston[/name_u]
[name_m]Wells[/name_m] ([name_u]Brooks[/name_u] energy but a little less used)
[name_m]Alonzo[/name_m]
[name_m]Armand[/name_m]
I like [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], but think it’s better anchored coming from a full name- maybe [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]? [name_u]Sol[/name_u] is neat nickname too
The suggestions of [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], halston ( adding to my list!) & [name_m]Fisher[/name_m] are lovely! I feel like [name_m]Wells[/name_m] is very popular rn, may just be my area?
Other thoughts:
[name_u]Colby[/name_u]
[name_u]Vaughn[/name_u]
[name_m]Vance[/name_m]
[name_m]Walden[/name_m]
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]
[name_m]Buster[/name_m]
[name_m]Preston[/name_m]
I like [name_m]Newton[/name_m] “[name_m]Newt[/name_m]!” [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is nice, although [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] feels more like a name to me.
What about:
[name_m]Falconer[/name_m]
[name_m]Theron[/name_m]
[name_m]Eamon[/name_m]
[name_m]Lazarus[/name_m]
[name_m]Rhodes[/name_m]
[name_m]Raymond[/name_m]
[name_m]Rodney[/name_m]
[name_u]Alder[/name_u]
[name_m]Daxton[/name_m]
[name_u]Kingsley[/name_u]
[name_u]Tobin[/name_u]
[name_m]Morrison[/name_m] (maybe nn [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]?)
[name_u]Destry[/name_u]
[name_m]Lester[/name_m]/ [name_m]Chester[/name_m]
[name_m]Bram[/name_m]
I think if you were going to do [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] for a boy, I’d spell it w/the ‘o’. [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] seems more feminine. Also, I find [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] a bit nick-namey. What do you think of [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] nn [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]? Or [name_m]Santiago[/name_m] if that’s not too fancy.
Webster is not my style, but it’s kind of cute & I can see the appeal. Same w/Hardy. I don’t mind [name_m]Newton[/name_m], but [name_m]Newt[/name_m] just reminds me of a lizard.
The last female name that made me do a double take was [name_f]Shoshanna[/name_f], [name_u]Shea[/name_u], and [name_u]Aquila[/name_u]. For males, it was [name_u]Baker[/name_u] and [name_m]Aslan[/name_m].
Thank you for all your suggestions, I’m gonna go through them all and see how they hubby feels about them this weekend, but nothing really feels “right” yet. I hear the 3rd of the hardest to name send help
