Names You Liked For a Really Small Amount of Time

Are there any names you only liked for a really small amount of time? A name you had a crush on for a week and fell out of love with really quickly?

For me it would be [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. I loved it for a week and now I can’t really see the appeal.

Maude! I thought it had an old fashioned, gothic vibe, but the charm faded, and now I find it meh.

I loved [name_f]Odette[/name_f] for a few weeks before I realised how it’s pronounced…
And I liked [name_m]Sigismund[/name_m] for like two days and then I just din’t anymore

Theodora. I still like it but I definitely had a short phase where it went to my number one spot. Now it’s not even in my top ten.

Daisy. I still think it’s sweet and fun but it’s not really my style anymore.

Jasper. With my eldest, we were briefly torn between [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] and [name_m]Casper[/name_m] for a boy. Now I’m [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] (this spelling) all the way and still like [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] a lot, but not for my list.

Betsabe. I still like it, but not in love anymore.

Theodore!
It shot to the very top of my boys list for maybe… A fortnight. Then I just… Didn’t really love it anymore.

Gretchen!

I loved it for a week or two but then I watched a TV show with a [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] in it, anyway I love [name_f]Greta[/name_f] much more and the nn [name_u]Grey[/name_u] but [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] is just not a love of mine anymore.

Theodore & [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. I think it’s partly the popularity that deterred me.

Ambrose. I loved it for a couple days because the sound is great, but I have a great deal of trouble actually seeing it on a human being for whatever reason.

Heathcliff might become another because I’m reading Wuthering Heights and the character is just an absolutely terrible person. Good thing I prefer [name_m]Heath[/name_m] and [name_m]Cliff[/name_m] as names on their own :upside_down_face:

Penelope
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
These names were all really high on my list at one point and I was OBSESSED with them for like a week. Then a few days later…my love for it was gone.

I really fell in love with [name_f]Sereia[/name_f] for a few weeks, but the inevitable pronunciation issues put me off.

I also had an [name_f]Allura[/name_f] phase that magically disappeared. [name_f]Clover[/name_f] also came and went in the blink of an eye.

OH NO. I’ve just had the shortest love affair of all time. About 20 minutes ago I fell in LOVE with [name_f]Fae[/name_f] as a fn. [name_m]Just[/name_m] realised now that it rhymes with my last name. It was fun while it lasted. :sob:

Martha, it was the most perfect name for a few weeks and then, nothing anymore. [name_m]Can[/name_m] sort of see the appeal but it’s not in my top 10 anymore.

That would be [name_m]Fitz[/name_m]. Last week for 2 days I was obsessed with it and actually got my partner on-board and then two things killed it for me.

He said ‘you’d be having [name_m]Fitz[/name_m] (fits)’
And I did some more research and learned it was first used to denote the paternity of illegitimate children. Basically when you google the name meaning the word ‘b@stard’ is everywhere😒 wouldn’t bother me from an ethical or moral point of view but not v nice to bestow that baggage on a child.
