What names did you like when you were younger? These are from high school journals (late 90’s to early 00’s) here are the highlights. I’m just glad I wasnt a teenage mom.
My first boyfriend and I were somewhat “flower children”, but uncreative. We were 14, and decided that when we inevitably married and had children, the girl would be [name]Raine[/name] [name]Kashmir[/name] and the boy would be [name]River[/name] [name]Lennon[/name].
We broke up after high school, but I hear he’s expecting a little one. I hope his name choices have evolved as much as mine.
Also, I realize there are people here who like names like [name]Raine[/name], [name]River[/name], and [name]Lennon[/name]. I don’t mean to offend, I just mean that it is completely different from my style now.
The first name I liked was [name]Helena[/name] when I was 9. Then I liked: [name]Michael[/name] [name]Diego[/name] (13), [name]Anthony[/name] (15), [name]Adelina[/name] [name]Sofia[/name] (16), [name]Eva[/name], [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Rosalia[/name], [name]Aurora[/name] (17). [name]Eliana[/name] [name]Sofia[/name] (18). Then [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Helena[/name] [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]/[name]Clara[/name] [name]Anneliese[/name]/[name]Adeline[/name] [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] (19) :D.
My style hasn’t change much at all. I had my first daughter at 15 and my now husband and I named her [name]Eliska[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name]. I am still completely and utterly in love with it and cannot imagine her being anything other than our little [name]Ellie[/name]. Other names I like were:
[name]Sutton[/name] (meh, dont like this much anymore)
[name]Georgina[/name]
[name]Mae[/name]
[name]Lola[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name] (my sons name)
[name]Zachary[/name]
[name]Tyson[/name]
Oh my GOSH!!! 15? That’s really young! And you’ve been with the same guy all the time? I am really impressed!
I liked [name]Leonie[/name] and basically any names from french, english and russian classic novels. My way favourite though (when I was, say 2-5) was [name]Lise[/name] (my favourite doll), [name]Liesel[/name] (my favourite my little pony) and [name]Lison[/name] (my 60’s skipper doll). I had a huge Rosilda, [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name], Rosea phase as well, and [name]Beatrix[/name]!
For boy’s it was whichever guy I had a crush on… fictional or real. So [name]Robin[/name], [name]Westley[/name], [name]Danny[/name], [name]George[/name], [name]Inigo[/name]…
If I was a teen mom I’d have chosen names that I’d be pretty disappointed with now considering how much my style has changed.
My first name loves were [name]Elliott[/name] and [name]Nathan[/name], which are still nice names just don’t excite me anymore but I’d still use them as middle names. I don’t think I’d have done that bad a job of naming a boy if I went with [name]Elliott[/name] or [name]Nathan[/name], the latter was my favourite first name for about 5 years (between the ages of about 13-18 years old), but that progressed to [name]Nathaniel[/name].
Others that I loved were; [name]Jamie[/name], [name]Mackenzie[/name], [name]Jayden[/name], [name]Kai[/name], [name]Caden[/name], [name]Louis[/name], [name]Ellis[/name], [name]Morgan[/name], [name]Riley[/name], [name]Finlay[/name], [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Bradley[/name] for boys.
My taste in girls names was awful and it could have been anything from [name]Louise[/name], [name]Jessica[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Jade[/name], [name]Kyla[/name], [name]Jada[/name], Keelyi (crazy spelling and all!), [name]McKenna[/name], [name]Layla[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Erin[/name], [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Yasmin[/name].
I was really in love with [name]Katherine[/name] when I was younger. I don’t hate it now, but somewhere along college age my girl name pick changed to [name]Darcy[/name].
For boys, I really liked [name]Kristofer[/name]/Christofer. For girls, I liked [name]Anastasia[/name], [name]Odette[/name], and [name]Seraphina[/name].
In grade 3-4-5 I loved [name]Elizabeth[/name] & [name]Leanne[/name]/[name]Leanna[/name]. I remember naming my dolls this all the time when I played with my sister and my friends. These were my favorite for a long time. At one point, I think I liked [name]Sara[/name] a little bit. My sister was obsessed with [name]Ashley[/name], probably because of the whole High School Musical thing, as [name]Sharpay[/name] (played by [name]Ashley[/name] Tisdale!) was her favorite character.
LOL, my taste in names as a teenager was horrid compared to now. Some that stand out were things like [name]Jaden[/name], [name]Mikayla[/name], Shayleigh and [name]Kaiden[/name] (prn. like [name]KYE[/name]-den). [name]Just[/name] really trendy and often made up.
When I was about 4 or 5, I loved the name [name]Charlene[/name]. Nowadays, it’s in the back of my mind, not something I’d use, but something I still like for nostalgic reasons. Around that time, I also loved [name]Russell[/name], Figaro, and [name]Peter[/name]. (none of which I have any particular attachment to anymore) Another girl name I loved (and still do to this day) is [name]Sonya[/name].
During my early high school years, I was dead-set on naming any future daughter Xanadu, no middle name, just Xanadu. Since then, I just think it would be kind of silly, but I still keep in on my GP list. For a while during that time, I had some fixation on the name [name]Jeffrey[/name] because I kept having recurring dreams I married someone named that. However, [name]Jeffrey[/name] is just an okay name to me now, nothing special.
When I was a pre-teen I adored names like [name]Max[/name], [name]Constantine[/name], [name]Shirley[/name] and [name]Gabrielle[/name].
Also I loved the girls name Voirrey although I had no idea how to pronounce it.
As a teen I loved [name]Bridget[/name] and [name]Allison[/name] (my middle name) for girls. For boys, it was [name]Tristan[/name] (Legends of the Fall-inspired; who didn’t want to procreate with [name]Brad[/name] [name]Pitt[/name]'s character and give birth to [name]Tristan[/name], [name]Jr[/name].?) and [name]Leonardo[/name] [DiCaprio]. Hah.
As a young child, I was obsessed with [name]Azrael[/name], who was a Smurfs character.
When I was little I loved Lisandre, [name]Elspeth[/name] and [name]Anastasia[/name] for girls, and then for boys, something completely opposite, [name]William[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Zachary[/name] etc. Go figure.
Considering that I’m only 18, I’m going to go with names that I really liked (still like) when I was a kid. These were [name]Lily[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Seth[/name] and [name]Noah[/name]. All very pretty but quite popular now as well.
As you can see, absolutely terrible on the girls side, and very trendy on the boys side! I think quite a few of those came from reality shows I liked at the time, or celebrities I still some of my favourite girls names, but on boys!
Ultimately, I still like [name]Rose[/name], [name]Grace[/name], [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Madeleine[/name] for girls; I still like [name]Avery[/name], [name]Dexter[/name], [name]Emory[/name], [name]Milo[/name], [name]Greyson[/name] (Gracen), [name]Hunter[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name] for boys. And I still like [name]Elias[/name], [name]Emerson[/name], [name]Adair[/name] and [name]Addison[/name], but now for boys. But aside frm [name]Rose[/name], [name]Grace[/name], [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name], I don’t love any of them anymore.
Thankfully, my tastes had already begun to evolve to the much better [name]Camilla[/name] [name]Marcheline[/name], [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] by the time I became 15.
