Names you love, but can't use!

Basically, I have so many names I adore, but couldn’t use as a first name if I was blessed with a child! I could probably use them as middle names though, so thats okay:’)

[name]Bunny[/name]- I once met a [name]Bunny[/name]. She was adorable and so lovely, but so many people say its a stripper name!
[name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Sunny[/name]
[name]Cherry[/name]
[name]Lux[/name]
[name]Primrose[/name]
[name]Alma[/name]
[name]Tilly[/name]
[name]Zelda[/name]
[name]Xena[/name]

For shortness’s sake, I’m only doing things that I personally can not use for whatever reason. if I started listing true GPs we’d be here forever.

[name]Aviva[/name] -[name]Aviva[/name] Fu sounds like a sneeze
[name]Florence[/name], [name]Francesca[/name], [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], etc. F names all sound silly with Fu.
[name]Hugo[/name], [name]Jude[/name], [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Luna[/name], etc. many names with the oo sound, all rhyme with Fu. (are you seeing a pattern here??)
[name]Pearl[/name], [name]Eve[/name], [name]Maude[/name], 1-syllable names - all sounds too short and choppy with Fu.

Sigh…

[name]Josephine[/name]–[name]Adore[/name] it and would use it in a heartbeat, except our neighbor across the street has a little [name]Josephine[/name] who goes by [name]Josie[/name] (the same NN we would use).
[name]Vera[/name]–[name]Love[/name] it, but my work colleague has a daughter by that name.
[name]Esther[/name]–[name]Love[/name] it, but it doesn’t work with our last name (two syllables beginning with an “E,” so sounds way too similar).

I think [name]Aviva[/name] Fu sounds lovely!

Most R names are out, especially [name]Rose[/name] names cause the word [name]Rose[/name] is in my last name!

[name]Nina[/name] because my jerk bro & sis in law stole it from me! I love it enough to still use it, but my niece [name]Nina[/name] has the same last name that we do:(

Now that I used [name]Leonie[/name] I feel like a lot of L names are out!

Aside from that- a mile long list of friends, their kids, exes, ect

Pretty much anything that ends in A or O is automatically out, since I have an Irish O’_____ last name. Things with “oh” sounds in the middle don’t sound too great either.

Which is a shame, because I adore [name]Gemma[/name], [name]Viola[/name], [name]Pippa[/name], [name]Cora[/name], [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Noah[/name].

I also like [name]Molly[/name], [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Claire[/name], but those have been taken by family members, since there’s a limited selection of girls’ names that don’t end in A.

[name]Brooke[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]/[name]Emily[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name]
[name]Isabelle[/name]
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Calista[/name]

Mostly all of them are cousins names or similar to them. My family is freaky about using names that are too similar to eachother.

Mostly there are no name’s I can’t use but there are several which I just wouldn’t no matter how much I love them! This is mostly because I have a soft spot for very cutesy non-serious “hippy-ish” names that I may like but is possible my child would hate and may pose a problem for my child :/. It’s no biggie just stuff like [name]Honey[/name], [name]Rain[/name], [name]Sunny[/name]… I love [name]Jamie[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]'s kid’s names - [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Honey[/name], [name]Daisy[/name] Boo and [name]Petal[/name] [name]Blossom[/name] [name]Rainbow[/name] and his boy [name]Buddy[/name] [name]Bear[/name] but I could never do that to my kids :stuck_out_tongue:
