I was thinking recently about all the names I love but can’t use - either due to a veto or cultural or personal association. For me personally, I can’t give my child a popular name since I’m such a namenerd - I need to put more effort in than the top 100. I’m going to list them here and mourn! Please share yours!
[name_f]Isis[/name_f] - obvious reasons here, but I’m quite sad this name has been tarnished.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] - these were on my list about ten years ago. [name_m]Way[/name_m] too popular for me, and I’m really upset about it!
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] - I go back and forth on this one. It’s what I wanted to be named when I was young, but it’s too popular now.
[name_u]Sierra[/name_u] - I’ve always loved names that were mountains. DH and I are climbers and it would fit well. But [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] was the highschool mean girl at DH’s school, and he vetoed it. 
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] - I love this for both boys and girls, but some friends recently named their boy this.
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] - My ex. Maybe I shouldn’t have dated someone who’s name was on my list! Lol!
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] - My husband’s ex. REALLY annoyed about this one, though it’s getting popular so I might not have used it anyways.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] - My mom’s cat.
[name_m]Holden[/name_m] - This was my #1 for a long time, until I travelled to Australia and learned it was a car. [name_m]Just[/name_m] can’t get past it.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] - My friend’s brother. Could probably get away with it, but it might be too weird.
