[name_f]Do[/name_f] you ever find when you really love a name but you just don’t know why?
As a younger kid I really loved the boys name [name_u]Carson[/name_u] I have no idea why though I heard it somewhere and just thought to myself Wow that’s a really cool name! and I have loved it ever since.
I also really love the name [name_f]Linda[/name_f] but I just don’t know why! [name_m]How[/name_m] odd is that?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] any of you guys find you get that?
Madelief! I read it a lot on an old name forum I used to be a part of before it got shut down, and I thought it was really stupid and weird, lol, but it’s just grown on me! I don’t have any Dutch ancestry, and it’s so weird I feel like people would give me death threats for just considering giving it to a future daughter, but I think it’s adorable and so spunky! I’m sure there are others; that’s just the first one that popped in my head.
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]. I tend to steer very clear of biblical names as I’m not a religious person and definitely do not want to name my child after a biblical figure (even if it’s as common and unassociated with religion as [name_f]Sara[/name_f].) [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] is still quite the christian name. But, it has a mystical, fun, sensitive, but strong charm to it. I could never use it, but I do [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it.
Also, rain names. I hate rain, thunderstorms, dark clouds, everything rainy. Yet, a lot of names I’ve fallen in love with are rain related names.
Examples: [name_f]Raina[/name_f], [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f], and Raindrop (this ones a guilty pleasure).
When I see names that seem to just mean “from so-and-so-place” I sort of just want to turn around and leave it alone, but I can’t with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. It’s my exception to the rule. It’s one of my favorite names for some reason.
I’m not a fan of the name [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], it doesn’t really feel like anything special to me, but lately I am crazy about [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and I’m not sure why.
[name_m]Shiloh[/name_m]; he was a character in a book series I really enjoyed in middle school, but my interest in that ended a long time ago and my love of the name stuck around for some reason I’m not aware of.
[name_m]Rowan[/name_m], which is my favorite nature name, I’m not sure why; I don’t know where my interest in it even came from, but there it is.
Most recently, I came across the name [name_f]Zephyrine[/name_f] and I was so instantly and randomly wowed by it that I immediately had to drop everything and create a character just so I could use it.
[name_f]Peaches[/name_f] and [name_u]Lyle[/name_u]. There’s just something very cute and friendly about [name_f]Peaches[/name_f], though I’d never use it (think about a lawyer named [name_f]Peaches[/name_f]). [name_u]Lyle[/name_u] reminds me of syrup for some reason? I dunno. It just sounds nice.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] for a girl, [name_m]Samson[/name_m] for a boy. I like more unusual names, but there’s something about these two that I just can’t shake.
I’ve thought about starting a thread like this myself! Haha. There are so many names that I love, but can’t put my finger on why. Some of them include:
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m]
[name_u]Frankie[/name_u] (I dislike [name_m]Frank[/name_m] and [name_m]Franklin[/name_m], but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Frankie[/name_u])
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]
