Names you loved but ended up ultimately not liking at all?

Hello hello,

As I was going through topics and lists and whatnot, it made me think about the names I was absolutely in love with a couple years ago, just deadset loved, but then I went off them. It got me wondering what names those here were sure they were going to name their child but ended up not liking!

[name_u]Story[/name_u] of my life… but lately, my list is pretty stable, so I will have to think.

I was pretty set up on [name_f]Zora[/name_f] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] as teenager, but there were countless others, so I will come back.

Names I was crazy about, and while still liking them, would probably not use:
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f]
[name_f]Ghislaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Leontine[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]

Boy:
[name_m]Bach[/name_m]
[name_m]Soren[/name_m]
[name_u]Darcy[/name_u]

My boys list is pretty set for years, which is kind of sad, since boys names aren’t as exciting as girls names.

When I was little, I absolutely LOVED the names [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. Now I find them way to common and boring.

I used to love [name_m]Cole[/name_m] on a girl. Not sure where that came from.

One of my first name crushes was [name_f]Oceana[/name_f]. I would never use it now.

I remember being convinced (aged about 9 or 10) that my daughter would be [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f].

I don’t hate the names and I don’t hate the combo, but neither name has featured anywhere on lists for our actual children, even though DH quite likes [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] as well, because a close friend had a [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] exactly one month before my daughter was born!

I was also dead set on [name_u]Max[/name_u] for a boy, which I still think is great — but I married one!

One that I’ve really, properly gone off is [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. I went through a phase as a child of pretending this was my name — either that or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I loved the frilliness of them! Now I’m really not keen on [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], although oddly the [name_f]Willamina[/name_f] spelling appeals slightly more. I can appreciate it on other people’s children, but it’s not my style at all.
