I love [name_f]Tiggy[/name_f] too
[name_m]Paul[/name_m], why does everyone hate poor innocent [name_m]Paul[/name_m]?
[name_m]Paul[/name_m] has such a sweet soft sound! How can you not like [name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Annella[/name_f]!
Nice to be reminded about [name_m]Tiago[/name_m]! I always forget that beautiful name!
I do think [name_f]Odelette[/name_f] could take off here, as [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] and [name_f]Odette[/name_f] seem quite loved
[name_f]Odelette[/name_f] is so pretty wow
I LOVE [name_m]Paul[/name_m]! And it’s the name of possibly the sunniest person I know.
Eau de toilette? Sorry, that’s all I can think of when I say it out loud!
Since [name_m]Jack[/name_m] spoke of [name_f]Bianca[/name_f], I’ll raise you [name_f]Blanca[/name_f]. It’s the underrated Spanish variant that is closer to the Vulgar Latin version if anyone cares about that.
Names made up for novels/games/films such as:
Eragon, Aragorn, Ahsoka, Kuzon, Enola, Ollivander, Roran, Zuko, Kuvira
Though I’m not religious myself, there are some biblical names that I love the sound of and wish they were more commonly used
Some others that I think are hidden gems:
Faline
Faustine
Lunaria
Linaria
Leonora
Saponaria
Sororia
Ondine
Rosira
Griselda
Fiora
Illyria
Adeliza
I think so too. I’ve simply never heard of it before but it’s pretty
I sometimes wish it would, but I also like it staying under the radar. However, it’s been on the list for my husband and I for more than ten years!! As you can see, most people here say it reminds them of eau de toilette or omelet. Still. I adore the name.
I feel like [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is quite popular on NB actually.
I do think that we might have to be a little more creative with introducing names, though, just putting them in your UC does very little to make them known.
Write an appreciation post, with a bit of imagery or a few pictures attached - what makes that name special, why should it get more love, what does [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] or [name_m]Caden[/name_m] make you think of. Many berries seem to like names that, if not unique, do at least have some sort of imagery attached to them, maybe [name_f]Emma[/name_f] makes them think of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] evokes the image of a cottage surrounded by a flower meadow and [name_u]Oliver[/name_u] makes you think of a round-faced little boy with wellies collecting earthworms for his little vegetable bed. Most of these names also have a history of usage, something that makes them feel timeless - that seems to be appreciated, however, you don’t always need to go for what you already know and like but there needs to be a reason as to why you shouldn’t. Tell a story about [name_m]Caden[/name_m] or [name_u]Jaycee[/name_u] or Ivonar - berries will listen.
As for the names, I would love to see
[name_f]Leonor[/name_f] - an old Spanish variation of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_m]Iskandar[/name_m] - an [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] variation
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Petronella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_m]Hector[/name_m]
[name_m]Nestor[/name_m]
This is a really good point, I feel like posts in name of the day that have either emojis or a quick blurb on the personality of a name get more likes, because it gets people picturing the name in use and appreciating its ~vibes~
can we talk about wendy ~?
she’s just so whimsical and sweet
Oh I love [name_f]Wendy[/name_f] I’d love to see a combo for her in some UC’s
I think I just have to get on that
[name_f]Cherry[/name_f]
Waiting for [name_f]Jillian[/name_f], [name_f]Maybellene[/name_f], [name_u]Axel[/name_u], [name_m]Warren[/name_m] & [name_u]Riley[/name_u] (g) to get some love!
I also feel like [name_f]Sally[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_u]Holly[/name_u], [name_f]Michelle[/name_f], [name_u]Harry[/name_u], [name_f]Aimee[/name_f] & [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] need some more attention!
[name_f]Edeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Edelie[/name_f] - they look nice & I see a general favorable view of [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and it’s variants on this site as well as frequent mentioning of them. Plus, I don’t know how to pronounce them. Is it Edd-uh-line or Edd-uh-lyn for example?
Yes! I live outside the US and I generally don’t know many babies and I see all these names being written off as popular but they’re all so interesting to me?
