What are some names on your list that you won’t ever compromise on/get rid of?

Aimee/Amy, Sanjana, [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], and [name_f]Kamala[/name_f] for me. [name_f]Kamala[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] honor my grandma. I promised my mom that I would name my first daughter Sanjana. [name_f]Aimee[/name_f]/Amy is another honor name for me.

I wouldn’t say there are any names I wouldn’t compromise on! The ones that I would put up a serious fight for, however, are [name_m]Simon[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

Never say never, but I have a hard time imagining myself without a [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!

One name I haven’t given up on is [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as a middle name, even if my SO doesn’t love it. And it’s also hard for me to give up [name_m]Linus[/name_m]!
So the names that are most important to me are [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]/Marjorie/Pearl.
At the end of the day, I’d be willing to give them up if my partner really hated them. [name_m]Reading[/name_m] through Nameberry and seeing how different people’s styles can be has made me think about how I’d feel if I was forced to use a name I really disliked, so I’m trying to be empathetic. I suppose operative word is trying.

For girls, [name_f]October[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] are the three names I’d find it hard to budge on. For boys, I’m much more flexible, but I’d probably fight for [name_u]James[/name_u] in the front slot.
Im willing to compromise on anything really, I would love to adopt my future children, so I may not even get to use any of my favourite names at all.
However, it would be extremely hard for me to let go of [name_u]Eden[/name_u]!

I would try my best to compromise, but as of now, the name [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is the one name I would have the hardest time ever getting rid of.
Others are [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f].
In general, I’m less likely to compromise on my boys’ choices, because I’m much more picky with boys’ than girls’. However, I’d especially struggle to compromise on [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]. He’s just been my ideal name for so long. Same goes for other top favourites, [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m], [name_m]Horatio[/name_m], [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m], [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] (I’m struggling to keep in the middle). For girls I’d be pretty upset not to have [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Fae[/name_f] in there somewhere.

I think my heart would break a little if I heard someone else calling out [name_f]Flora[/name_f], knowing I would never get to use it. This also goes for [name_f]Rose[/name_f], however, only in an english-speaking country.
Generally, I’m less likely to compromise on certain middle names, such as [name_m]Nicanor[/name_m], as they honour family.
I wouldn’t compromise on [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_u]Jackson[/name_u] as middle names, as they’re important honours for me. But for firsts I think I’d be more flexible, as it would be my partner’s child too and I’d want them to love the name just as much as me.
