For those with children, what names would you have chosen for your kids if you weren’t choosing the name with someone else’s input?
We have an [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and an [name_u]Evan[/name_u] (!!) but I think I would have chosen [name_f]Callie[/name_f] and [name_u]Baker[/name_u] if left entirely to my own choosing.
I don’t have kids but am curious to see the responses!
Also, I didn’t realize you had welcomed baby #2!! Congratulations!! [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and it works great with [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f].
So you’ve made your decision! Evan is a great choice.
We didn’t talk names until we learnt the baby’s sex so I only made one list. I probably would’ve chosen Cy or Sam from that list if it was up to me. The name we chose was my husband’s suggestion so I don’t think I would’ve even considered it.
His middle name was more or less my choice so I don’t think that would’ve changed since it was chosen to reflect one of my family names.
[name_m]Ah[/name_m] you settled on [name_u]Evan[/name_u]! Congrats!
I’d have used [name_f]Una[/name_f] for a girl. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband totally vetoed it I really liked [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] this time, and he said not as a first name. I think I’d have gotten it in the middle, if this one was a girl. Same with [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].
I got very lucky with my boy names, though, since he agreed to my top two! Our third boy has been more of a compromise since we had to look further down the list and for other possibilities. On my own, I might have gone with an [name_u]Irish[/name_u] name, [name_u]Rory[/name_u] or [name_m]Seamus[/name_m], or else a different obscure Biblical name; maybe [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] (thought it might be The One but he couldn’t quite see it!) or [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m] (he’s said no.)
[name_f]My[/name_f] first daughter would absolutely have been [name_f]Julia[/name_f], but my husband vetoed it immediately.
I also always really wanted a son named [name_m]Joel[/name_m], but it doesn’t really work with our last name (and I think my husband vetoed it anyway).
[name_f]My[/name_f] first daughter wouldve been [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] second probably wouldve recieved the same name!
[name_f]My[/name_f] son’s first name wouldn’t change but one of his middle names was almost [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], instead of [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. I liked [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] much more but DH wasn’t sold. In the end, we made the right choice!
Congrats! [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] go perfectly together
I don’t have kids yet but my picks would probably be [name_f]Frances[/name_f] Virginia/Meadowlark “Annie” and [name_u]Henry[/name_u] Alan/Alistair “Hal” (I’m a little undecided on the middles).
I still would use a lot of the names I like and have a lot of different styles. However I’m glad I didn’t go with [name_u]Greyson[/name_u], [name_u]Oakley[/name_u], [name_u]Flynn[/name_u], or [name_u]Wesley[/name_u]. No particular reason other than I probably wouldn’t like them as much anymore
