[name]Hi[/name] everyone. I had a really rough year, my husband and I have been trying to conceive and we have had two miscarriages. We are going in for IVF next year and I like to keep positive by talking about names.
I’d love some opinions on these names we’ve chosen. Which do you like/dislike… what kind of names you think we might also like. We don’t really like names that are overused (with the exception of [name]Hope[/name]!)
Middle names we are toying with are: [name]Primrose[/name], [name]France[/name], [name]Maple[/name], [name]Plum[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Pomme[/name], [name]Roux[/name], [name]Bebe[/name], [name]March[/name], [name]Finch[/name] and [name]Clove[/name].
[name]Martha[/name] - this is such a sweet name and I’ve only ever known one.It feel like it should be more popular than it is. I like [name]Martha[/name] [name]Roux[/name] as a combo. I think the [name]Roux[/name] spices it up and makes it unexpected.
[name]Hope[/name] - I think with everything that is going on for you this year, [name]Hope[/name] is a beautiful name to have on your list. Combo: [name]Hope[/name] [name]Pearl[/name].
[name]Brighton[/name] - nms. though I do like [name]Brighton[/name] [name]Primrose[/name].
[name]Daphne[/name] - beautiful name. I like [name]Daphne[/name] [name]March[/name].
[name]Magdalena[/name] - [name]Magdalena[/name] [name]Clove[/name].
[name]Rowan[/name] - I love [name]Rowan[/name] though I’d probably stay away from a place/day/nature thing name for a mn. [name]Rowan[/name] [name]Hope[/name] would be my choice.
[name]Sadie[/name] - feels more like a nn to me.
[name]Saskia[/name] - [name]Saskia[/name] [name]Plum[/name]. So cute.
[name]Sunday[/name] - day nnames are nms. Esp with certain words like [name]Clove[/name] I think of a special [name]Sunday[/name] Joint. Or [name]Sunday[/name] [name]March[/name], is just too time or marchy descriptive for me. I’d probably use it as a mn instead. [name]Maple[/name] [name]Sunday[/name]?
Middle names:
[name]Primrose[/name] - I have this on my favorites list as a first name with the nn [name]Posie[/name] or [name]Pim[/name]… obviously I love it.
[name]France[/name] - It’s okay, not bad. [name]Just[/name] doesn’t sound very special too me.
[name]Maple[/name] - I like this a lot. It’s got a sweet, feminine sound without being too frilly.
[name]Plum[/name] - Cool. This is only the second time I’ve seen [name]Plum[/name] as a name, actually. I like it.
[name]Pearl[/name] - Not my style.
[name]Pomme[/name] - Very pretty, I like it. Another rare one.
[name]Roux[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this one. It’s unique yet familiar and adorable. [name]WIll[/name] age well.
[name]Bebe[/name] - I don’t like this one at all. It sounds way too harsh and reminds me of guns.
[name]March[/name] - Not bad, just not my style.
[name]Finch[/name] - Call me crazy, but I think of the American Pie movies. I’m not sure you wnt that association.
[name]Clove[/name] - Around here, [name]Clove[/name] is what all of the alternative kids and art students smoke. [name]Thos[/name] may be different where you live, however. Apart from that I think it’s pretty.
First names:
[name]Martha[/name] - I have a relative named [name]Martha[/name], so it has some positives for me, but over all I find the name dated and slightly unattractive.
[name]Hope[/name] - Very pretty! and it’s not terribly popular. It was more popular when I was born, and I only know one. It’s more of a mn now.
[name]Brighton[/name] - I’m not sure what I think of this. It’s definitely unique, but I think it sounds very harsh for a little girl.
[name]Daphne[/name] - My favorite in your fn list. Gorgeous.
[name]Magdalena[/name] - Would you give her a nn? This would be a hard name for a young child to carry. Over all, it’s nice. [name]Just[/name] a bit over the top.
[name]Rowan[/name] - My cousin’s name is [name]Rowan[/name], I’m just not a huge fan. It’s very trendy right now with kind of puts me off.
[name]Sadie[/name] - Too cute. I really like it.
[name]Saskia[/name] - I like this one, it’s very spunky.
[name]Sunday[/name] - My second favorite! I love day of the week names, but [name]Sunday[/name] is definitely the most usable.
Combinations I like:[name]Sunday[/name] [name]Roux[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name] [name]Maple[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Primrose[/name]/[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Plum[/name]
What a bummer I’m sorry about all of your family’s hardships. I will be praying that your IVF treatments end possitively.
[name]Martha[/name] - Is this honoring someone? If not, I feel like it might be a bit dated.
[name]Hope[/name] - I think this would be great as a middle name spot, but it’s too short as a first name.
[name]Brighton[/name] - Interesting, reminds me of the store!
[name]Daphne[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this, I love the ‘ph’ sound. It sounds so springy and bright. Perfect for a girl.
[name]Magdalena[/name] - A great alternative to [name]Margaret[/name], if that’s too popular for you.
[name]Rowan[/name] - Not a huge fan of unisex names, but this sounds a bit more feminine to me.
[name]Sadie[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this name, but more so on a dog.
[name]Saskia[/name] - I love this, so international and exotic. the ‘sk’ sound is surprising and keeps it interesting.
[name]Sunday[/name] - I’m not a fan of date names
[name]Saskia[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name] are my top two from your list. I don’t really dislike any of the names actually, but [name]Sunday[/name] is nms.
The suggestion of [name]Sadie[/name] [name]Primrose[/name] is amazing!
[name]Martha[/name] - Not for me personally.
[name]Hope[/name] - I don’t think this is at all overused for the first name spot. I’d love to meet a little [name]Hope[/name].
[name]Brighton[/name] - A little to unisex for my taste.
[name]Daphne[/name] - Adorable. Would sound great with [name]Plum[/name] or [name]Pearl[/name].
[name]Magdalena[/name] - This was my chosen name in my high school spanish class! I still like it.
[name]Rowan[/name] - Not my favorite.
[name]Sadie[/name] - Very cute. I think [name]Sadie[/name] [name]Maple[/name] would be great.
[name]Saskia[/name] - Im not sure on pronunciation, but I think I like it.
[name]Sunday[/name] - Adorable. I wouldn’t pair it with another word name though.
[name]Rowan[/name], [name]Brighton[/name], and [name]Sadie[/name] are my favorites in that order, but they’re all really lovely! And your choice in mn’s is great, i love all of them! [name]Primrose[/name] and [name]Plum[/name] are 2 of my all time favorite mn choices actually, so I’d have to recommend them. I read somewhere of a mom having her daughter’s middle names as “[name]Plum[/name]” and “[name]Wren[/name]” so she calls them [name]Plum[/name] and [name]Birdie[/name] which I think is adorable good luck in the future!!!
I love [name]Saskia[/name], and really like [name]Daphne[/name] as well as [name]Sadie[/name], [name]Martha[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name]. [name]Sunday[/name] is sweet and I like [name]Magdalena[/name] but I think [name]Magdalene[/name] is even more elegant. In my opinion [name]Hope[/name] is overdone and overrated - there are plenty more original and appealing virtue names out there like [name]Amity[/name], [name]Clemency[/name], [name]Constance[/name], [name]Temperance[/name], [name]Prudence[/name] and [name]Honor[/name]. The only name I really dislike here is [name]Brighton[/name] - to me it feels masculine, made up and already sounds dated.
I adore your middle name ideas, especially [name]Primrose[/name], [name]Maple[/name], [name]Plum[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] & [name]Finch[/name]. Have you considered using these as first names?
