Last year you helped us choose a name for [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Marvel[/name_f], soon to be eight months old.
I must say that for a couple who was told wouldn’t concieve children, we are one lucky pair. We’re unsure of the gender, and while I’m not superstitious, I keep thinking/imagining another girl.
From our first list, we’re still contemplating [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. We didn’t choose it the first time because it’s so common and every other little girl is named [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] etc. It’s still kind of discouraging, but at the same time we love it because of [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Scholl.
We’re also now thinking about [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (for [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] Edge and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] Pankhurst), and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] (for [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], whose characters were used to decorate [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]'s nursery), and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] (for [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] Tubman). Our last name starts with H, though it doesn’t rhyme with [name_f]Harriet[/name_f].
We’ve decided on the middle name [name_u]Bell[/name_u], which seems half odd, half sweet, like [name_f]Marvel[/name_f].
We would love to hear your thoughts and get some helpful input from you again.
While I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], we are using it for our little girl who is due next month, I can understand how popularity can affect how you feel about a name.
To go with [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Marvel[/name_f], I like the following in this order,
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Calia[/name_f] [name_u]Bell[/name_u]. I totally just made up the name [name_f]Calia[/name_f], but it sounds romantic and pretty like [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]. By the way, your middles are amazing!
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], something slightly less popular and softer sounding than [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f].
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] Tubman’s real first name was [name_f]Araminta[/name_f], and it flows with [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] nicely. A little too romantic and over-the-top for me though.
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]'s really pretty though, and the double H doesn’t cross me as unusable.
Good luck!
I like all those options but I think my favorite is [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is cute but very girly-girl when paired with [name_f]Juliette[/name_f].
I understand what you mean by that. I’m not sure if I like or dislike the idea of having a hyperfeminine sibling set. I am not a girly girl, but the names individually don’t sound as frilly as they do together. And…there is nothing wrong with being girly, right? I guess it shouldn’t be a problem? [name_m]Even[/name_m] if its not what I had in mind.
I actually adore [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. Yes there are a lot of Sophies/Sophias/Sofias, but for me [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (just [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]) has never lost its charm. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] are lovely.
Of your other options, I like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] ([name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is also nice) and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. But I’m not as in love with them as the soft and sweet [name_f]Sophie[/name_f].
I absolutely adore [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_u]Bell[/name_u] and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Marvel[/name_f] as a sibset. They both look so ravishing together. However you can’t go wrong with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Bell[/name_u] either, it does add a touch of girlishness to the girls’ names but the two will pair rather well together regardless. You have such great taste!! Good luck!
I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. Any of them would pair beautifully with [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]!
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Bell[/name_u]! [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] flows the best with [name_u]Bell[/name_u] I think. I love [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] but it has the same ‘et/ette’ ending as [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] (not a problem really, just a way to narrow down all of these cute names). I really like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] too. I’d rank them in this order: [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f].
