I am so close to my mom and if I have a girl I would love to give her middle name after my mom. My mom’s name is Sharon and my mother in law name is Sharon as well. I think the obvious middle name is Sharon because it would be after both grandmas, but my husband isn’t very close to his mom and quite frankly neither am I. Not my favorite woman by far. Also, he doesn’t like the name Sharon, which I don’t blame him, with the whole Karen thing. My mom’s middle name is Marie, which is also mine. I don’t like my middle name much. It was sooo common when I was a kid and felt everyone has that middle name.
Do you have any name suggestions after my mom? She also loves bees. I just found out Beckett means “beehive” and even though I see that as more of a boy name I think it could work as a cute girl’s names. Another idea I had, I trust my mom’s opinion and my mom is not someone who needs to be in the spotlight (my mother-in-law is ) so I considered letting her come up an option or two for the middle name. Basically, let her choose. I think she would be happy knowing she picked it. At the same time, I would like it to be after her. Any advice?
Letting your mother suggest middle name ideas could work! I think that’s a great way for your mother to be involved in your child’s name.
That said, based on Sharon, Marie, and bees:
Bea, Beatrice, and Beatrix, for the bees
Maren, Marina, Margot, Marisol, Marlowe, Marley, Marigold, Rosemarie, Marceline, Maris for Marie
Saffron and Sarah for Sharon

How about giving the baby the same initials as your mom (S.M.)? That gives you more freedom to choose a name that fits your style. You could also use your mom’s birth month, birth stone, or favorite flower as the middle name.

A few more suggestions into the mix:

Some ideas to honour [name_f]Sharon[/name_f] Marie…

[name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Maren[/name_f] (pronounced like Sharon) or [name_u]Marin[/name_u] (Muh-rin) would make a lovely middle name. It sounds similar to [name_f]Sharon[/name_f] name and it has an M for [name_u]Marie[/name_u].
[name_u]Shay[/name_u] or [name_u]Shae[/name_u]
[name_u]Sasha[/name_u]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]

[name_u]Shelby[/name_u]
[name_f]Masha[/name_f] or Misha(Marie and Sharon)
[name_f]Norah[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f] (Sharon backwards)
This was my idea as well. I really love Maren for you. The way I say it rhymes with Sharon, and the Mar- feels tied with Marie as well.
Is your mom’s maiden name something that would make a good middle?
[name_u]Or[/name_u] a name that honors her ancestry? (Like an Irish name if her ancestors came from [name_u]Ireland[/name_u], for example.)
I also love [name_f]Norah[/name_f] for you!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
This is an interesting dilemma! I like the idea of [name_u]Beckett[/name_u]. I find it more boyish, but totally fine for a girl middle name. Kind of cute, actually, if you used a more feminine first name to go with it. But what do you think of the middle name [name_f]Bee[/name_f]? [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Bee[/name_f]? I think that’d be adorable! [name_u]Or[/name_u] possibly the mn [name_f]Honey[/name_f]?
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
What about [name_f]Maren[/name_f]?
Maybe consider using your mom’s maiden name, if it sounds nice?
