Naming Agatha's older brother

His name used to be [name]Theodore[/name] “[name]Ted[/name]”, but I can’t use that because it’s too close to another character’s name. So I need a new name for him, preferably one with a nickname that his family calls him. He’s 18, his last name is [name]Van[/name] Rossum, his sister’s name is [name]Agatha[/name] [name]Fleur[/name], and his mother is an English teacher (she named his sister after [name]Agatha[/name] [name]Christie[/name], so I think maybe his name should be after an author as well).
Also, his father’s family is from the Netherlands, so his middle name should probably be Dutch.
Thank you in advance to anyone who answers.

I like [name]Auden[/name] and [name]Edmund[/name] from those previous suggested, but [name]Edmund[/name] and [name]Agatha[/name] sound the best. It might be a bit too outré, but what about [name]Pelham[/name]? Good luck!

I’d go for [name]Agatha[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] and [name]Victor[/name] [name]Jens[/name] van Rossum.

I know [name]Jens[/name] is more Danish than Dutch but I love the sound it all makes together

[name]Austen[/name] for a first name, like [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] with the last name turned in to the first name. I also like:
[name]Charles[/name]
[name]Alfred[/name]
[name]Sherlock[/name]-not an author, but [name]Agatha[/name] [name]Christie[/name] writes mystery, so I thought it would work. Other popular mystery names would work, too, like [name]John[/name] or even [name]Watson[/name] used as a first name (although that would be kind of odd)
[name]Scott[/name]
[name]Mark[/name] or [name]Twain[/name]
[name]Oscar[/name]
[name]George[/name]
[name]Lewis[/name]

Sorry, I don’t know any Dutch names! :frowning:

well if the mother likes [name]Agatha[/name] [name]Christie[/name], why not name your character [name]Max[/name](agatha’s second husband)or [name]Hercules[/name](first name of Poirot)?
other suggestions…
Egar ([name]Alan[/name] [name]Poe[/name])
[name]Thomas[/name] ([name]Hardy[/name])
[name]Percival[/name]

I think [name]Ernest[/name] goes well with [name]Agatha[/name]

I like the idea of using [name]Hercules[/name], but a lot of people would pronounce it [name]Hercules[/name] as in mythology [name]Hercules[/name] and not like [name]Hercules[/name] without the “eez”. [name]Just[/name] a thought.
