I really love the name [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u], but it’s used on [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy. Should I avoid the name and find a different middle name starting with an A?
I, being a [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy fan, didn’t associate the name with the show at first. But hardcore fans know that it’s an award that pops up once or twice during the season.
I don’t watch [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy, so I didn’t make the connection, but it doesn’t seem to be too bad of one? I googled it quickly. My biggest hesitation is the fact that [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] are both unisex–while they both lean feminine now, that hasn’t always been the case, and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] still rank for boys. I think it’s nice to have at least one name that helps identify the gender–at least, I know I appreciated that, sharing a name with my uncle!–but otherwise, [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is a nice name, albeit very popular. Which is another reason I don’t think there’s anything wrong with [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u]–I’m sure there’s lots of little girls (and maybe even a boy or two) out there with the very same name.
I’ve never watched [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy. The only issue I see with [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is that it’s a masculine name.
I’m a huge [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy fan, so I noticed it straight away. However, I wouldn’t let it stop you, the name is lovely with a good flow and the middle name is hardly used. Also, as it’s the name of the award (which isn’t mentioned a whole load of times) and not a well known character, I highly doubt those who haven’t seen [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy will make the connection.
I don’t know what [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is supposed to represent. I watched [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy up until the fourth season or so, so maybe it’s something that popped up after? But I didn’t make the connection at all.
…seriously? I don’t watch this show, never have, and never plan to. The obvious issue with using [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] for a girl is that it’s a boy’s name.
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] just sounds like a popular on-trend name to me. I don’t see it as a problem. And I would assume it was girl’s name.
I’m a [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy fan, and I definitely associate [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] with the show. I also agree with the posters who mentioned that the combo is too unisex. (In fact, the [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] award is named after for a male character if I remember correctly, although in that case, [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is the last name.) I would pick an obviously feminine name as a middle for [name_u]Harper[/name_u].
After reading [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u], I immediately thought of [name_u]Grey[/name_u]´s Anatomy It´s a pretty name though. I wouldn´t mind using it just because some people recognize it from TV. But I do agree with other berries that it sounds too masculine.
I’m a [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s fan so I noticed the reference immediately. I don’t think most people will get the connection though, nor do I think the name is too masculine.
I do, however, think that it’s a very trend-heavy name and it’ll date quite easily. You’d be able to pick when a [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] born in the same way you know a [name_f]Shirley[/name_f] is from the 30s and a [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] is from the 80s.
