My husband and I named our firstborn [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. I absolutely love his name and the way it sounds. Plus, it just fits who he is as a person. Overall, we preferred more classic/biblical names when we were planning for him.
I am now expecting baby boy #2 (who I have nicknamed Nugget for the time being). My husband and I are having a terrible time agreeing on names for nugget. He also just confessed the other day that names we listed as possibles he really just feels ‘meh’ about them. So I feel like we are starting over.
Here are some names that we have considered so far, but hubby is no longer sure about:
[name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] (or the reverse), [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
If any on our possible list jump out that you think flows well and is in align with our Firstborn’s name, please let me know or add your own suggestions. Any help would be much appreciated.
I think [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] and [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] sound great as brothers! [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] is my favorite, I would also like [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] with [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. Classic, solid choices.
Some other ideas:
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m]
[name_m]Jared[/name_m]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Adam[/name_m]
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_u]Seth[/name_u]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
I do love the name [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] but my husband nixed that name as he knows too many and does not want any of them to assume we named our son after him. sigh
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a nice addition to consider. Thank you!
Are there any names that your husband really likes? Does he generally prefer Biblical names, but just doesn’t love the ones on your shortlist, or are you looking to branch out a bit? As far as Biblical names go, I really like [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], and [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Paul[/name_m] or [name_m]Silas[/name_m] would be cool brother names to [name_m]Timothy[/name_m], but perhaps any other, future children might feel a bit left out.
[name_m]Timothy[/name_m] is an underused Classic (in my opinion).
Other suggestions (I did not read all other suggestions so I apologize for repeats):
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] (a little out of the box)
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m] (a bit more common than [name_m]Timothy[/name_m])
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m]
[name_m]David[/name_m] (I love this actually)
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]/[name_m]Josiah[/name_m]/[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m]
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Robert[/name_m]
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m]
He does prefer Biblical names overall as well as those that tie back to the family. [name_u]James[/name_u] is my husband’s first name as well as his Grandfathers’ name so that is why we used it as a middle name. Been trying to find a tie to my family, but none of my family names flow well or he likes as much as others.
I do like [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], my only hang up is that I have a few friends that just used that name. I will see what the Hubby thinks of [name_m]Silas[/name_m].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the idea of using [name_u]Drew[/name_u] as a middle name. [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] was always one of my favorite names, but it is my nephew’s name so we were avoiding the reuse. But [name_u]Drew[/name_u] is a great nod to it without being matchy!!!
