[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, long time lurker here and finally decided to make an account the other day. I used to post a lot on ITNO, but it seems pretty dead nowadays.
Anyway…we are due with baby number 3, a girl, on February 9th! We are pretty set on using [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (pronounced em-uh-leen) as her first name, however, I’m not too sure about the middle name. Our front runner is [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (a family name on both sides) and I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but I’m a little worried about the flow. Does it sound weird that both names end with an ‘n’ sound?
[name_f]One[/name_f] of my long time loves has been the combo [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], but my husband prefers [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. And I wish I could honor my late mother, but using the name [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] would be very ‘e’ and ‘l’ heavy.
So my question is…does [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] flow and sound okay to you or should I keep looking? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it fits well with siblings [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]? Thank you!
I think it sounds great! I do, however, much prefer [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], just because it’s so [name_f]HAPPY[/name_f] and lovely and matches the spunk and uniqueness of siblings [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] & [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] a bit closer, imo! Good luck!!
I think [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] flows better, because [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a bit repetitive of the last syllable of [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. Either one is nice though, and I love it with sibs.
Could you honor your mom by giving her the same initials (first and middle anyway)? What was your mom’s middle name or initial?
I like both, but slightly prefer [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I do think [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sound okay though. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are pretty combos.
That’d be a great idea…if I used my mom’s initials, her initials would be ELF though. Not that it’s really a bad thing, but a little silly. Haha. I can’t think of any L names my husband and I agree on.
I also prefer [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. My concern lies with your prn of [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. I am afraid it will be problematic since I only ever hear it prn Emm a line. I would love to see [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] with [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
I think the flow of [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is just fine. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are nice combos, however. As a side note, your daughter’s name will already be a nod to your mom (as they will share the same first initial). Good luck!
I really like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] she works well with [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] & [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] : )
I prefer [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] too [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] does sound very happy! And just to throw this out there - I think there will be confusion with the pronunciation of [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. I’ve only ever here emm-uh-line. It looks beautiful on paper, too! Good luck!
[name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]! It’s on my own list and has been for years (and only off it for a short while). I think [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is delightful, actually. Might you do [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]? I agree–I’ve always struggled with the flow of [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. It sounds so stunted. What was your mom’s middle name? Or could you do [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]? It has the [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] sound at the beginning…
