Naming Cecilia's brother! Help!

DD is [name]Cecilia[/name] (nn [name]Cece[/name]) [name]Fern[/name]. DH and I are stumped for boy’s names. We are seeking a name that is not common, yet not unheard of. [name]Felix[/name] was a fave, but is out of contention now (search for my thread on giving your child a name of a criminal). Our last name is [name]Mitchell[/name] and I am IN [name]LOVE[/name] with the middle name [name]Huckleberry[/name] and very set on the idea of using it. I do like names that have nickname options, but it isn’t required. Some of the names on my list (that DH isn’t crazy about) are:

[name]Linus[/name] (no nn option, too nerdy?)
[name]Theodore[/name] nn [name]Theo[/name] (getting too popular?)
[name]Dashiell[/name] nn [name]Dash[/name] (how does this pair with [name]Cece[/name] or [name]Cecilia[/name]?)
[name]Arlo[/name] (getting too popular?)
[name]Calvin[/name] (don’t love [name]Cal[/name] or [name]Vin[/name] as nn options)
[name]Caspar[/name] (DH thinks [name]Caspar[/name] is a molester name for some reason, any others have that thought/reaction?)

I’ve spent HOURS searching for options, anyone have any ideas for other names that we should be considering? DH doesn’t really like any of these options, though if I became firm on one, I think I can change his mind. :wink:

[name]Cecilia[/name]: Seems like an older name, but using the nn [name]Cece[/name] makes it a bit more modern to me.

[name]Theodore[/name] - super cute, but definitely popular
[name]Dashiell[/name] - doesn’t ‘match’, but the nn [name]Dash[/name] is perfect for [name]Cece[/name]

[name]Calvin[/name] - love the nn [name]Cal[/name]
[name]Casper[/name] - I like it. DH nixed it for us a while back. He said it reminded him of the ghost.

[name]Just[/name] to clarify, [name]Huckleberry[/name] is the middle name choice that I’m set on. I know it’s a mouthful, but I wanted a meaningful middle name with botanical theme linked to the pacific NW, like [name]Fern[/name] is for my DD.

It’s likely too common, but I would love to meet a sibset of [name]William[/name] and [name]Cecilia[/name], [name]Liam[/name] and [name]Cece[/name] would be adorable, [name]William[/name] [name]Huckleberry[/name] doesn’t sound too bad either! [name]Liam[/name] [name]Mitchell[/name] is a great name!
