Georgia[/name_f]] I am having my 6th boy in less than 6 weeks. We have no girls. We have never had trouble coming up with a name, until now. We have too many requirements, I guess. So I am asking for some help and suggestions. The name we have at the top of the list is [name_m]Saxon[/name_m], but it seems to have some obscure, yet negative connotations and I am iffy about using it. Help!
Middle name is [name_m]Carl[/name_m]
Siblings are [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], [name_u]Shade[/name_u], [name_m]Gunnar[/name_m], and [name_m]Oslo[/name_m].
No names in the Top 500, unless it has barely made the list or is super unique.
No B names, it wouldn’t go well with the last initial.
We usually focus on the ending syllable of the names compared to our other boys’ names. The ending sounds of their names are all different, so it is something we consider, excepting one-syllable names. We are definitely open to another one-syllable name. I have been interested in word names and nature names, I am also not opposed to completely made up names. The ending sound is the least important requirement, we are open to any names that have a similar ending to sibling names, but we will consider those with different endings or one-syllable names first.
Thanks so much, hope you enjoy the challenge, and I hear some awesome suggestions!
Wow, it is quite a challenge! I’ll give it the best shot I can
The first sound that came to mind that you don’t already have is a name ending in an -ie, -y or -i sound.
[name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] (#655)
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] (#576)
[name_u]Harley[/name_u] (#663)
[name_u]Remy[/name_u] (#520)
[name_m]Kobe[/name_m] (#591)
[name_u]Grey[/name_u] (#916)
[name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] (#499) or [name_m]Bode[/name_m] (#845)
[name_m]Malakai[/name_m] (#489)
[name_m]Leroy[/name_m] (#997)
[name_m]Huxley[/name_m] (#962)
Or any names ending in an -s sound
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] (#513)
[name_u]Curtis[/name_u] (#527)
[name_u]Royce[/name_u] (#530)
[name_m]Cassius[/name_m] (#646)
[name_m]Ares[/name_m] (#723)
[name_m]Amos[/name_m] (#732)
[name_m]Briggs[/name_m] (#745)
[name_m]Hayes[/name_m] (#531)
[name_m]Emrys[/name_m] (not in top 1000)
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] (#948)
Well first off congrats <3
Secondly you sound like me with your requirements
Ok let’s see
Your sons are:
Elijah (3 syllable e-ah)
Quentin (2 syllable q-n)
Shade (1 syllable s-de)
Gunnar (2 syllable g-r)
Oslo (2 syllable o-o)
B is out… It doesn’t work for us either it seems…
So ideally your start initials are
A*
C
D
F
H*
I
J
K
L
M
N
P*
R
T*
U
V
W*
X
Y
Z
And ending sounds let’s see
B, E-I-y, f-ph, g, m, p, s, t, w
With Carl as a middle that is taken into account as well…
I think… Shouldn’t be a problem since you’ve really got a lot of great endings left and I will * my favorite beginning letters for you based on your other children’s names incase you want to do alphabetical searches since sometimes that’s easier.
I would suggest you decide what syllable count you’re thinking
If you care, you have 1-3 syllables and no defined pattern I can see which makes it easier to find something honestly. But you have 3 2 syllable names and one each other’s so it would be easiest I imagine for you to find a two syllable name?
I really like how different your boys names are! Let’s see…
Your names are this nice mix of traditional and free spirited- I love word and nature names myself so maybe I can think of something …
Axiom
[name_u]Avery[/name_u]
Asp
Harvest
[name_u]Tully[/name_u]
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u]
I just had my 5th and it was also important to me to not repeat begging Letter and to have different ending sounds. For that reason I think you shouldn’t use [name_m]Saxon[/name_m] as it has the S of [name_u]Shade[/name_u]. I like the suggestions of [name_m]Crew[/name_m], [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] and [name_u]Lennox[/name_u]. I love the name [name_m]Oslo[/name_m] I used it on my cat and now I am kicking myself for it. Good luck
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_m]Dax[/name_m]
[name_u]River[/name_u] (possibly too popular)
[name_m]Deacon[/name_m] (#453)
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_m]Mac[/name_m] (might not work with [name_m]Carl[/name_m])
[name_u]Pax[/name_u]
Fox
Previous suggestions that work really well:
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m]
[name_u]Lennox[/name_u]
[name_m]Cove[/name_m]
You have a nice mix of naming styles which gives you lots of flexibility.
Here’s what I have come up with…
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m]
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] (not sure if the ending is too close to [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]?)
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] (hasn’t cracked the top 1000 though you may find it too close to [name_u]Shade[/name_u]?)
[name_m]Langston[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m]
[name_m]Stanton[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] (under #1000)
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] (#902)
[name_m]Magnus[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m]
