naming fantasy character

I’d like a bit of help naming a character for a short epic-fantasy-type story I’m writing.

She was born into a tentative, fraught peace after a long, violent war. Her father, a minor lord, died in the war while her mother was pregnant, so her mother named her by herself.

Her mother was young, probably about sixteen, so part of me wants to go with a name that sounds like a more feminine, frilly sort of choice a young mother might pick. (Think teen-mom names that would work in an epic fantasy genre!) Possibilities here: [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] or [name_f]Arianne[/name_f]. I’m not very good with these sorts of names. It makes sense given her mother’s characterization, but it’s not my favorite style of name, so I’m having trouble coming up with ones I like. Suggestions of this type of name would be welcome.

On the other hand, her father comes from a culture where female names tend to be shorter and simpler, and sometimes harsher sounding, so there could be an honorific name there because he’s dead. [name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts here are Lunet (a variant of [name_f]Eluned[/name_f], used in Arthurian legend), [name_u]Wynne[/name_u], [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] (another Arthurian name! I seem to like them) and [name_f]Alanis[/name_f]. I’m not looking for suggestions here as much as opinions on the ones I’ve already come up with.

Physical description: About average height, stocky, with curly blonde hair, a strong chin/jaw, and gray eyes.
Some character details: She tends to be quite serious and closed-off in general, but is sweet, loving, and enthusiastic with the few people she trusts. She is very smart, but somewhat prone to anxiety and holds grudges. She has a strong sense of morality and justice.

i really like Lunet and [name_u]Wynne[/name_u]

for suggestions what about:

[name_f]Marielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Annelise[/name_f]
[name_f]Maris[/name_f]
[name_f]Fay[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Luciana[/name_f]

any of these spike your fancy?

Thanks, luluskye!

[name_f]Marielle[/name_f]–I quite like this one, thanks, but I’m not sure whether it fits the character. Maybe [name_f]Mirielle[/name_f], though?
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]–really pretty. I like it.
[name_f]Annelise[/name_f]–I like the sound, but the multiple spellings drive me batty.
[name_f]Maris[/name_f]–another important character’s name is [name_f]Marissa[/name_f], so it’s too close, sorry.
[name_f]Fay[/name_f]–it seems a bit too real-world to me.
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f]–too associated with [name_u]Les[/name_u] Mis.
[name_f]Audrina[/name_f]–a good option!
[name_f]Luciana[/name_f]–another good one.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite of your suggestions is [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], it’s lovely and it seems to fit my idea of the character. [name_f]My[/name_f] current front-runner is Lunet, but I was wondering if other people would find it too odd–it reassures me that you like it!

[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Myra[/name_f]
[name_f]Lisetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Roz[/name_f]
[name_u]Juneau[/name_u]

You could use one as a middle name if you can’t decide?

[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f]
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
2) Lunet or [name_f]Eluned[/name_f] would be great I think.

I like Lunet, it has a great vibe to it. Though it looks a bit too much like lunatic.
Maybe [name_f]Lunette[/name_f]? Makes it frillier and separates it a bit from lunatic.

What about?
Mirette/Mirett/Mirret/Mirhet
Miraine - homage to Igraine of Arthurian legend
Ilaine - again, sound of Arthurian legend without copying the character

Or you could have her mother give her a more frilly name like [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] but have her use a nickname like [name_f]Mira[/name_f].
