[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’m looking for a name for an evil [name_f]Fae[/name_f] king for a fantasy romance story I am writing. This guy has no redeeming characteristics and is a minor, but important, character for most of the book. He has long, black hair, steel gray eyes. He has no empathy for others, tortures his people, and is paranoid. The story is set in modern times, but he can have an old-fashioned name.
Names I kind of like, in no particular order: [name_m]Thane[/name_m], [name_m]Levon[/name_m], [name_m]Bowen[/name_m], Bodan, [name_m]Maxen[/name_m], [name_m]Maddox[/name_m], [name_m]Maddoc[/name_m], [name_m]Crane[/name_m], [name_u]Korbin[/name_u], and Theron.
Any ideas for me?
What other names did you use? From your list I like [name_m]Maddoc[/name_m] but a name containing “mad” might be a little on-the-nose for the mad king…
From your list I really like [name_m]Theron[/name_m] and [name_m]Maddoc[/name_m]!! Though I agree with wandarine’s commentary about the latter name. [name_m]Theron[/name_m] sounds very regal to me and visually looks a bit like thorn and eon combined which I think is very fitting for a an evil fae king.
Some names with cool meanings that could work are:
[name_m]Leviathan[/name_m]- Meaning twisted, coiled
[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]- meaning immortal one
Yes, good point. [name_f]Aine[/name_f]/[name_f]Anja[/name_f] is the main character. I decided to go with [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] for the main male character…I think!
I love [name_m]Crane[/name_m]. It really stands out amongst the other and would lend itself to a more mythical understanding of your character. [name_u]Bird[/name_u] symbolism, or an extra dimension by showing his “elegance”. -whereas “[name_m]Maddoc[/name_m]”, “[name_u]Korben[/name_u]”, and “[name_m]Levon[/name_m]” sound a bit one-dimensional too me. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
