Naming my characters' children...

Hey again, Berries. I’ve never posted in the writer’s forum before, but I need some help! I need help coming up with names for three characters of mine.

The first character is named [name]Judith[/name] [name]Arianna[/name] Crawley, she is brown-haired, brown-eyed, and very artsy. She’s a pottery teacher who is very free-spirited, stubborn, and sarcastic. She did NOT take her husband’s last name when they got married. Her hubby is [name]Evan[/name] [name]Scott[/name] [name]Mackenzie[/name], who is a blonde, brown-eyed Australian novelist. He’s also very stubborn and sarcastic. [name]Jude[/name] likes very unique names, whereas [name]Evan[/name] is a bit more down-to-earth. They’re both artsy enough to get away with weird names but would rather the names be established. If it’s a boy, the middle name will be [name]Muse[/name]. If it’s a girl, no idea. Last name is [name]Mackenzie[/name], so nothing trendy.

The second character is named [name]Adrienne[/name] [name]Amelie[/name] [name]Stone[/name]. She’s brown-haired, green-eyed, and French-Canadian. She’s a cosmetician, and is friendly, but also generally soft-spoken, conservative, and motherly. She lost both parents at seventeen and raised her younger sister pretty much alone. Her husband, [name]Ashley[/name] [name]Stone[/name], has brown hair and brown eyes, but is pretty much a doormat when it comes to their marriage, so she can name her baby whatever she wants. She’d like something French, and if possible, honoring her father [name]Alexandre[/name]. [name]Jacqueline[/name] and [name]Alexandrine[/name] are out.

The third character is named [name]Erin[/name] [name]Cassiopeia[/name] [name]Sharp[/name]. She’s a perky, bubbly blonde with brown eyes. Her mother was an astronomy major in college, so both she and her half-sister [name]Jane[/name] ([name]Jane[/name] [name]Andromeda[/name] [name]Reynolds[/name]) have constellation or star-related names. She wants to continue this pattern with her own children. [name]Erin[/name] already has a cat named [name]Orion[/name], so that name is out. Her fiance is named [name]Caleb[/name] [name]Anthony[/name] [name]Parish[/name], he has brown hair and blue eyes. All [name]Erin[/name] wants is to be a wife and mother, so I think she would like relatively normal, expected, even trendy (ulch!) names.

Any ideas you have would be much appreciated!

For [name]Judith[/name] and [name]Evan[/name] I thought of [name]Leon[/name] [name]Muse[/name] [name]Mackenzie[/name]. I think it’s a cool sounding, kind of artsy name ([name]Leonardo[/name] DaVinci without the full punch of [name]Leonardo[/name]). And I think [name]Leo[/name] would work well as a nick name, not that [name]Leon[/name] really needs it considering both [name]Leon[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] are two syllables… I think [name]Muse[/name] would work fine as a middle for a girl as well. Unless you are looking for one boy and one girl name. In any case, [name]Aria[/name] and [name]Allegra[/name] came to mind for this couple. If no [name]Muse[/name] girl middle name, something like [name]Story[/name] perhaps?

For [name]Adrienne[/name] and [name]Ashley[/name]… hmm… something french, I’d say for a girl maybe [name]Colette[/name] (means the people’s victory) or [name]Callia[/name] (beautiful). I think I like [name]Callia[/name] [name]Stone[/name] and maybe use [name]Alexandria[/name] for a middle name. For a boy, maybe [name]Rainier[/name] (means a wise warrior). I’m not really sure how to get the honoring for [name]Alexandre[/name] in there other then the obvious. Sorry.

[name]Erin[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name], trendy names… [name]Don[/name]'t like the name personally, but it was the first thing that came to mind, [name]Brayden[/name] [name]Parish[/name]. For the constellation middle name, I’d go with [name]Phoenix[/name]. ([name]Cassiopeia[/name], [name]Andromeda[/name], [name]Phoenix[/name], Pisces, Sculptor, and Tucana are [name]November[/name] constellations) So, [name]Brayden[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name] for a boy. As for a girl, going along with Trendy, and perhaps another [name]November[/name] constellation, [name]Madison[/name] Tucana?

  1. I like [name]Muse[/name] as a middle name for a girl as well. I like [name]Terra[/name] [name]Muse[/name] [name]Mackenzie[/name] for a girl. [name]Terra[/name] is an Italian name meaning “[name]Earth[/name]” and I think that is a good name for the daughter of a potter. For a boy, I like the previous suggestion of using an artist’s name, but cutting it down. [name]Leon[/name] [name]Muse[/name] [name]Mackenzie[/name] is too cool! Another idea could be [name]Michel[/name] (pronounced like [name]Michael[/name]) [name]Muse[/name] for [name]Michelangelo[/name]. But I like [name]Leon[/name] better.

  2. Because you said that [name]Jacqueline[/name] and [name]Alexandrine[/name] are out, I’m going to assume that [name]Adrienne[/name] and [name]Ashley[/name] are having a girl. I love French girl names, so this should be fun. If you want to stick with the A theme, then I would suggest [name]Aimee[/name] or [name]Alaina[/name]. But if you want another letter, I love [name]Elise[/name] or [name]Nathalie[/name]. I think those sound just like [name]Adrienne[/name] and [name]Ashley[/name]'s style! Unfortunately, I’m not really sure how to honor [name]Adrienne[/name]'s father without using [name]Alexandrine[/name]. [name]Alexandra[/name] might work but it doesn’t really go with the French style…

  3. For [name]Erin[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name], I like [name]Taylor[/name] [name]Lyra[/name] and [name]Addison[/name] [name]Lyra[/name] for a girl. For a boy, I agree with the previous suggestion of [name]Phoenix[/name]. Maybe [name]Ethan[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name] or [name]Aaden[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name]. Those first names are popular and I think they compliment [name]Erin[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name] nicely.

[name]Hope[/name] this helps!

  1. For [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Evan[/name], I think for boys, something like:
    [name]Desmond[/name] [name]Muse[/name] [name]Mackenzie[/name]
    [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Muse[/name]
    [name]Dion[/name] [name]Muse[/name]
    [name]Gabriel[/name] ([name]Gabe[/name]) [name]Muse[/name]
    [name]Ezekiel[/name] ([name]Zeke[/name]) [name]Muse[/name]
    [name]Axel[/name] [name]Muse[/name]
    [name]Dexter[/name] [name]Muse[/name]

Girls, I like:
[name]Rosa[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Clio[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Roxana[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Bronte[/name] [name]Juno[/name]
[name]Juno[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Avril[/name] [name]Story[/name]
[name]Tia[/name] [name]Fable[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Fable[/name]
[name]Zara[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Cressida[/name]

  1. [name]Adrienne[/name] and [name]Ashley[/name]'s kids I’m thinking [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Elodie[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] and maybe [name]Alize[/name] to honor [name]Alexandre[/name]?
    For a boy; [name]Julien[/name], [name]Raphael[/name], [name]Sebastien[/name] and [name]Leon[/name]

  2. Something trendy for [name]Erin[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name]… I like the suggestion of [name]Ethan[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name], some more ideas:

[name]Blake[/name] [name]Aries[/name] [name]Parish[/name]
[name]Hunter[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name] [name]Parish[/name]
[name]Cole[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name] [name]Parish[/name]

[name]Chloe[/name] [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Parish[/name]
[name]Kylie[/name] [name]Columba[/name] [name]Parish[/name]
[name]Emery[/name] [name]Columba[/name] [name]Parish[/name]
[name]Savannah[/name] [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Parish[/name]

For [name]Judith[/name] and [name]Evan[/name], I like [name]Raphael[/name] [name]Muse[/name] [name]Mackenzie[/name] (nick name Raphy?) or maybe [name]Frederick[/name] [name]Muse[/name]? (nick name [name]Freddie[/name]?), [name]Raphael[/name] is quite an artsy name but [name]Frederick[/name] is classic. For a girl maybe [name]Cora[/name] [name]Ellis[/name] [name]Mackenzie[/name], [name]Cora[/name] is very feminine but not that common and [name]Ellis[/name] is normally a boys name but fits perfectly.

For [name]Adrienne[/name] and [name]Ashley[/name] I was thinking of a girl called [name]Alexa[/name] No”mi [name]Stone[/name] or for a boy [name]Alec[/name] S”bastien [name]Stone[/name]. [name]Both[/name] of the first names honor [name]Alexandre[/name], with french middle names.

For [name]Erin[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name], I quite like [name]Nicholas[/name] [name]Draco[/name] [name]Parish[/name] (nick name [name]Nick[/name], [name]Nico[/name] or [name]Nicky[/name]?) [name]Draco[/name] is a constellation and [name]Nicholas[/name] is just quite a common name but has the possibility of becoming more unique with nick names. For a girl maybe [name]Ava[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Ava[/name] is again quite a common name with [name]Rosalind[/name] meaning moon.

[name]Hope[/name] I helped
