Quite the interesting scenario for ya - I’ll be granting myself a new name soon before I move. This has been desired since I was little, for the simple distaste of my first and middle name. Ultimately, my personal love for the name holds every priority - however, my good friend suggested posting on Nameberry to receive a variety of perspectives and new suggestions. List of names I like off the top of my head:
My last name is Dietz (pronounced deets) and this wont be changing. As you can probably tell, I usually have a somewhat odd taste for unique traditional names. I want it to be shorter, easy to pronounce, and distinguished. I’m 21, tall with dark brown hair/light skin and green eyes (not sure if this helps paint a picture, but why not.)
If you have any suggestions or comments, I’d love to hear them! Thank you.
[name_m]Archie[/name_m] holds a special place in my heart because it’s my son’s nickname. It’s a warm and inviting name while still feeling grown up.
From your list I also really like [name_m]Stellen[/name_m], [name_m]Breccan[/name_m], and [name_m]Ike[/name_m], and [name_m]Gannon[/name_m]. Like [name_m]Archie[/name_m] they all feel grown up while still having a playful quality. I’m on the bus right now but I’ll pop in later with some additional suggestions and possible first and middle combos.
I like these from your list for you: [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Archie[/name_m] and [name_u]Hayden[/name_u]. My favourite is [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and at first I hesitated about whether it would go well with your surname, and have decided it’s fine. I also like [name_m]Breccan[/name_m], and it goes well with surname, but it would be quite unusual and would need spelling for most people. I wouldn’t let that stop you from using it though if you’re keen.
[name_m]Archie[/name_m], [name_m]Breccan[/name_m] and [name_m]Ike[/name_m] seem to be the favorites among my family and friends. All are well outside the top 1000 for my age, with [name_m]Archie[/name_m] being the only one to climb past this recently. They all have nice meanings, origins, and are easy to say. They age well. [name_m]Archie[/name_m] Dietz is fine, but isn’t as smooth due to the double ee sound. I have a brother named [name_m]Mike[/name_m], but we aren’t close so [name_m]Ike[/name_m] should still be fine (I could also take [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] to get [name_m]Ike[/name_m].)
[name_m]Stellan[/name_m] and [name_u]Rex[/name_u] have always been guilty pleasure favorites of mine for the longest time. I’d definitely appreciate any new or combo suggestions.
I love [name_m]Dalton[/name_m] as a name too, but it might not be too pleasing to the ear with Dietz as a surname.
[name_m]Breccan[/name_m] is definitely my favourite here
