Naming Number Seven

Thoughts on naming our soon to be adopted son [name_u]Seven[/name_u]. My husband has wanted to name all of our boys [name_u]Seven[/name_u], but it was never a name I could go with. Our new son will be # 7 for is so [name_u]Seven[/name_u] kind of makes sense.

Other options:
[name_m]Colt[/name_m]
[name_m]Xan[/name_m]
[name_m]Crew[/name_m] (my fav)

Sibs: [name_m]Tanner[/name_m], [name_u]Cade[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_m]Haze[/name_m], [name_m]Jett[/name_m], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Mae[/name_f]-Li

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you mean he’ll be the seventh boy? Because you’ve listed seven sibling names there… ??

We have 6 children; adopting a little boy who will be child # 7 AND a little girl whom we are naming [name_u]Wren[/name_u].

I’m not keen on the name [name_u]Seven[/name_u]. Maybe as a pet name but it’s not a name I’d want for myself which is a handy standard to use.

I like [name_m]Crew[/name_m] best of your options. Goes well with sibset. [name_u]Seven[/name_u] is pretty edgy and besides [name_m]Haze[/name_m], the names of the siblings are fairly mainstream. And I wholeheartedly agree with @lo, if you wouldn’t choose the name for yourself to use every day for the rest of your life, it’s not fair to give it to a child.

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t name anybody [name_u]Seven[/name_u], please. I know it’s meaningful to you and your husband in terms of order he came into you’re family but you don’t want him feeling like just a number to you.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Xan[/name_m] or [name_m]Xander[/name_m] with [name_u]Seven[/name_u] as a middle?

Another option is [name_m]Steven[/name_m], which contains “seven”…

Not a fan of calling him [name_u]Seven[/name_u].

But what about:

[name_m]Lawson[/name_m]
[name_m]Callum[/name_m]/[name_m]Collin[/name_m]
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]/[name_m]Weston[/name_m]
[name_m]Tucker[/name_m]
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Kellen[/name_m]
[name_u]Dean[/name_u]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_m]Myles[/name_m]

I don’t like [name_u]Seven[/name_u], but from your list, I really like [name_m]Colt[/name_m]

Well. Its kind of celebrity baby to me, ([name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_m]Beckham[/name_m]) but I kind of like it. Seems nobody else does though. I wonder if there’s any names that actually have the meaning of seven?

Honestly? I love [name_u]Seven[/name_u]! I’ve actually known a boy in real life with this name before. Well, not personally, but I was looking through some of my old yearbooks one day for name inspiration and I came across a boy a few grades above me named [name_u]Seven[/name_u]. I wish he’d been in my grade so I could have had a closer look into how people reacted to his name, how he felt about it, etc.

Still, [name_u]Seven[/name_u] is definitely a weird name, and your son will almost undoubtedly receive comments and questions about it whenever he introduces himself to people. Are you sure that’s what you want?

Also consider:
[name_m]Septimus[/name_m] - means “the seventh son”
[name_m]Severus[/name_m]
[name_m]Steven[/name_m]

Unless you’re adopting at birth - which it doesn’t sound like you are - then your son already has a name. Period. And [name_u]Seven[/name_u] is just silly.

I know a little girl named [name_u]Seven[/name_u]. She’s around 5 years old now. Not sure if there is any significance behind the name. While it’s not my style, I can imagine it on a kid because I know one. I also knew an elderly woman named [name_f]Septima[/name_f] “Seppy” because she was the seventh. What about [name_m]Sven[/name_m]? to rhyme-y with [name_u]Wren[/name_u] maybe…

my personal opinion is that because he is number 7, that the name seven seems like he’s just a number and nothing else. Almost like you took the time to name the other children, but were outta names, so you just went with “[name_u]Seven[/name_u]”…

[name_m]Crew[/name_m] would be a cool name- sorry but I’m not a fan of seven
Some other suggestions
[name_u]Dane[/name_u]
[name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m]
[name_u]Kai[/name_u]
[name_m]Cash[/name_m]
[name_u]Bay[/name_u]
[name_u]Brook[/name_u]

Sorry I think I have to agree with this.
I absolutely love [name_m]Crew[/name_m]! Very handsome.

[name_m]Steven[/name_m] or [name_u]Evan[/name_u] are similar. Tough question. I would say focus on how it would be if it were your your name and then choose the one on the list that feels right… Word names are tough but great as middle names if they can’t work as firsts

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Sevan[/name_u]. It is a lake in Armenia. According to behind the name -

[name_u]Sevan[/name_u] - From the name of the largest lake in Armenia, which may be from the Urartian word suinia simply meaning “lake”.

As a child I knew a Sevana and I have like [name_u]Sevan[/name_u]/Sevana ever since.
